- Day 1
Tenerife Arrival to San Cristóbal de La Laguna
You'll land in Tenerife and pick up your rental car for the week ahead. The drive north along the coast takes you to San Cristóbal de La Laguna, where colorful buildings line the streets and historic churches sit tucked into corners. After you check in, take some time wandering through town to get your bearings and find somewhere good for dinner. The old quarter has plenty of spots to choose from, so you'll have options depending on what you're hungry for.

- Day 2
Anaga National Park
Head into Anaga National Park with your rental car and drive through misty laurel forests that feel removed from everything else. Stop at Mirador Cruz del Carmen where the views open up across the park, and then do the path of the senses hike if you're feeling it, which winds through thick greenery. Back in La Laguna later, you'll walk around the old town's narrow alleyways and see the colonial buildings that make this place feel like it's stuck in another time.

San Cristóbal de La Laguna to Garachico
Drive west along the coast and you'll find natural pools carved into black lava rock at Punta Hidalgo and Jover, where the water turns turquoise and inviting. Stop at La Baranda for snacks while taking in views of both sea and mountains. From there, head to Garachico, an old town with narrow streets and a 16th-century San Francisco monastery that somehow survived the volcanic eruption in 1706. Wandering through the historic center gives you a real sense of what life was like here centuries ago.

- Day 4
Teno Mountains
Drive into the Teno Mountains for a hiking day in the greener northern part of Tenerife. Starting from El Palmar, the easy hike takes you through different vegetation zones and passes through the small village of Teno Alto. On clear days you can see across to La Gomera, and the trail continues to Baracán's summit before bringing you back down. The whole loop gives you great views without being too strenuous.

Teno Mountains to Los Gigantes
Take the twisting mountain roads up to Masca village where dramatic cliffs and volcanic crater views surround you. From there, head to Los Gigantes to see the 450-meter cliffs that rise straight from the ocean. Walk along Calle Tabaiba's paved trail for close-up looks at these rock formations, then finish at Playa de los Guíos, a black sand beach where you can sit back and relax after the morning's exploring.

- Day 6
Teide National Park
The serpentine roads lead you through small villages and forests heading toward Teide National Park, where the landscape shifts to look almost lunar with volcanic rocks and black lava flows everywhere. Teide itself stays visible the whole drive. Stop at a visitor center, park the car, and hike through the rugged volcanic terrain to really feel the landscape. Later, swing by the natural pools at Los Gigantes for a swim and stay through sunset if you want that evening light.

- Day 7
Callao Salvaje
Drive south to Adeje and settle into Callao Salvaje, where your accommodation sits right on the coast. This is when you shift into relaxation mode. Spend the afternoon however you want, whether that's lying on Playa del Duque, floating in the water, or grabbing a drink at one of the beach bars as evening comes around.

Adeje
Today is all about the beach in Adeje. Drive to Playa de Las Américas and find your spot for the day. Grab a sun lounger, bring a book, and spend time moving between reading and swimming whenever the water calls to you. One of the beachfront bars is perfect for an evening drink as the day winds down.

Adeje
Your final full day doesn't require rushing anywhere. Have breakfast at your own pace and get ready without a schedule. Head to the beach when you feel like it, soak up the sun, maybe read or nap by the water. Later, take a leisurely dinner and finish with one last drink where you can look out at the Atlantic and reflect on the week.

Tenerife Departure
Before heading to the airport, take time thinking back on everything you've seen and done during your time here. Have one last cortado, turn in your rental car, and head home carrying the memory of Tenerife with you.
