  1. Day 1

    Casablanca to Rabat

    You'll arrive in Casablanca and head straight to the Hassan II Mosque, where you can take in the impressive minaret overlooking the Atlantic. From there, travel to Rabat to see the Hassan Tower and the Mausoleum of Mohamed V. By evening you'll settle into your riad, giving you time to freshen up after the drive.

  2. Day 2

    Rabat to Chefchaouen

    The journey takes you to Chefchaouen in the Rif Mountains, and the blue buildings will be visible as you approach. Once you check into your riad, wander through the medina at your own pace. You can find Place Outa el Hammam square, walk the blue alleyways, browse what local artisans are selling, and try a traditional maqlouba coffee at a café.

  3. Day 3

    Chefchaouen

    Start before sunrise and head to the Spanish Mosque to watch the mountains light up. The streets are quiet this early, so you'll get a different feel of Chefchaouen before the shops open. Later, join a guided hike through the Rif Mountains to Cascades d'Akchour waterfall, where you can swim if you want. You'll also see God's Bridge, a natural rock formation, then return to town for market browsing. The evening is yours to relax.

  4. Day 4

    Volubilis - Meknes - Fes

    Depart Chefchaouen heading south and stop at Volubilis to walk through Morocco's best-preserved Roman ruins with merchant homes and mosaics still visible. Grab lunch in Moulay Idriss, then explore Meknes' smaller medina and the Ville Imperiale before heading to Fes. You'll reach the historic medina in Fes by evening and check into your riad there.

    Fes

    A local guide will take you through the UNESCO-protected Fes medina, showing you hidden alleyways and how locals go about their daily life. You'll visit the tanneries and mosaic workshops to see how traditional Moroccan crafts are made. Spend the afternoon back at your riad to rest, then in the evening head out for a guided session at a traditional hammam, or public bath.

  6. Day 6

    Fes to Sefrou and return

    Take a guided day trip to Sefrou, a walled mountain town about 17 miles southeast of Fes. Visit the Craft Center where artisans work on wood, ceramics, rugs, and silk right in front of you. Learn about Sefrou's past as a Roman market center and stop on caravan routes. You'll return to Fes by evening, giving you the night back in the medina.

  7. Day 7

    Fes to Merzouga (Sahara Desert)

    Head out early and cross the Middle Atlas mountains through Azrou and its cedar forests, stopping to see Barbary macaques in Cèdre Gouraud Forest. Lunch comes in Midelt, then you'll follow the Ziz Valley through dramatic scenery. Stop in Erfoud to check out fossil workshops, then finish with a camel ride to your desert camp near Merzouga. Climb a dune to watch the sunset over the Sahara.

    Todra Gorge - Boumalne Dades

    Wake early for the desert sunrise and ride camels out of Erg Chebbi dunes into remote borderlands. Stop in Rissani to see traditional desert markets and donkey parking lots, then pass through fossil workshops in Alnif. Lunch happens in the oasis city of Tinghir, where you can take an optional trip to Todra Gorge. End the day in Boumalne Dades, nestled in the Dadès Gorge with kasbahs and Berber villages around you.

    Boumalne Dades to Aït Benhaddou

    Rise early to follow the Valley of a Thousand Kasbahs heading toward Marrakesh. You'll see traditional farming methods and nomadic herders with livestock along the way. Pass the El Mansour reservoir and stop in Ouarzazate, a desert hub known for filming. Visit a local movie studio, then continue to Aït Benhaddou, one of Morocco's most famous UNESCO kasbahs that dates back to the 11th century.

  10. Day 10

    Aït Benhaddou to Marrakesh

    Cross the High Atlas mountains heading north to Marrakesh through the Tizi n'Tichka pass, and you'll have panoramic views throughout. Look for Mount Toubkal, North Africa's highest peak, on the horizon. Descend through deep river valleys and almond and walnut orchards, experiencing how the landscape and climate shift dramatically as you drop elevation. Arrive in Marrakesh and spend the afternoon at leisure. By evening, head to Jemaa el-Fna square to see musicians, performers, and food stalls.

    Marrakesh

    A local guide will take you through Marrakesh's UNESCO medina to explore the souks full of djellabas, babouches, lanterns, and exotic spices. You'll visit Bahia and El Badii Palaces, Majorelle Gardens, and the Saadian Tombs. Your guide can tell you about the city's culinary scene and food culture. Return to your hotel in the afternoon to rest, then go back out in the evening to experience Jemaa el-Fna the way locals do.

    Marrakesh to Casablanca (via coastal route)

    Leave early for Casablanca via the coastal route and stop at El Jadida to see the Portuguese cistern, ramparts, and Church of the Assumption. Visit the artistic coastal town of Azemour with its 16th-century medina along the Oud Er-Rbia River. Check into your downtown Casablanca hotel, then spend your final evening exploring the city on your own.

    Really good trip. Just be aware they don’t contact you until the last minute for pick up. There is also a lot of driving involved (the van does have AC though). Our driver Dozi was really nice and helpful and made the trip fun. Saw some awesome sights and the camel ride was amazing. The desert is really HOT at night though so I recommend getting an AC tent or avoid doing it in August.

    Our experience with Khalil at Morocco Tour Marrakech was flawless. We started by discussing our travel plans, detailing where we would begin the tour and where it would end. Khalil provided various options based on the number of days we had in the country and helped us decide on a fantastic 10-day itinerary. Initially, we planned to fly in from Spain, but we decided to take a ferry instead. Khalil seamlessly adjusted our plans to accommodate this change. Our tour director, Omar, was exceptionally accommodating and knowledgeable, making our journey thoroughly enjoyable. The local guides—Morad, Mohammed, and karim—were incredibly well-versed in the history and culture of their respective cities, keeping us engaged throughout the city tours. Omar and the local guides made our trip an unforgettable experience. Their pride in their country and dedication to ensuring we had a great time were evident, leaving us with cherished memories of our adventure through Morocco.

    Khalil went above and beyond on our trip. Our driver, Ali, was always on time, helpful, and greeted us with water during the hot weather. Both of the tours we took were very informative. My one complaint is that we wish we had been warned about the prices and haggling before being dropped off at the rug store. We happened to be there during a holiday, and our Fes tour guide welcomed us into his home for a meal since everything was closed. Other than that, it was truly an amazing trip. Megan and Winnie at Wunderlust were always helpful, even responding promptly and assisting with reservations for the group.
