The trekking was very good but one of the Cuernos Refugio charged me 19% VAT because I did not have the PID. I had to obtain a duplicate or apply for it at a police station within 7 days for the Cuernos front desk to cancel the charge. I thought I had paid for the entire tour. I was not warned that the park refugios would try to charge me tax on a tour that I had paid for in full onlin months before. This was very distressing. I did not feel welcome.Show more

While accommodations in Chile are required by law to charge a 19% VAT to travelers without a valid PDI, we understand that this was not clearly communicated to you, and that caused unnecessary confusion. You're absolutely right — this information should have been clearly highlighted during booking or in your pre-departure materials. Payment information
- For any tour departing before April 12th, 2026 a full payment is necessary. For tours departing after April 12th, 2026, a minimum payment of 20% is required to confirm your booking with Hi Travel Argentina. The final payment will be automatically charged to your credit card on the designated due date. The final payment of the remaining balance is required at least 40 days prior to the departure date of your tour. TourRadar never charges you a booking fee and will charge you in the stated currency.
- Some departure dates and prices may vary and Hi Travel Argentina will contact you with any discrepancies before your booking is confirmed.
