Itinerary
- Day 1
Granada
You'll arrive in Granada and meet up with the group for a welcome reception. Before diving into the serious riding, there's a short 20 km warm-up loop around the city to check out your bike and get comfortable with all your equipment. This gives you a chance to sort out any issues before tomorrow's big push. After the ride, grab a light lunch and then join everyone for a welcome dinner to get to know the group.

- Day 2
Granada to Gorafe
This is the major ride day. Starting from Granada City Center, you'll climb steeply up into the Sierra de Huétor Natural Park with great views of Sierra Nevada. The route takes you through varied terrain including La Hoya de Guadix, a natural plain with impressive badlands. You'll pass through areas with Europe's largest concentration of cave dwellings and dolmens before finishing in Gorafe. Expect 121 km and 2,284 m of climbing, so it's a substantial effort today.

- Day 3
Gorafe
You're cycling through one of Europe's unique desert landscapes on a loop from Gorafe village. Head through Los Coloraos with its striking red badlands that look like something from the Grand Canyon, then tackle a gravel climb up to Los Altos de Alicán before heading back to Gorafe. This loop covers 87 km with 1,706 m of climbing, and it's a different kind of challenging terrain.

Gorafe to Gérgal
Today takes you into the remote Sierra de Los Filabres, which is the largest mountain range in Almería Province and truly isolated. You'll find stretches over 70 km without villages or resupply points, and the elevation frequently goes above 2,000 m. The area has historical significance with Roman aqueduct remains and Arab castles scattered around. You'll finish in Gérgal, which sits at the north gate to the Tabernas Desert. The ride is 102 km with 1,995 m of climbing and it's the most demanding segment of the tour.

Gérgal to Lucainena
Today you're riding into the Tabernas Desert, Europe's only true desert. You'll navigate through dry sandy river basins called Ramblas including Rambla de Lanujar, Rambla de Tabernas, Rambla del Búho and Rambla de los Molinos. The dramatic badlands landscape here is so distinctive it's been used as a filming location for Western movies and modern productions. After climbing to Collado Colativi, you'll finish in Lucainena. The ride totals 81 km with 1,260 m of climbing.

- Day 6
Lucainena to Retamar
Starting from Lucainena, you'll begin with a long, soft descent into the Cabo de Gata Natural Park, which is Europe's largest protected coastal area. The route mixes secondary roads, gravel, and sandy coastal sections through landscapes shaped by volcanic formations. You're essentially at the ecological boundary with Africa here. The day finishes in the coastal village of Retamar after 105 km and 969 m of climbing.
