  I have a few questions I can't seem to find the answer to anywhere. Trying to decide on a date and choosing between the beginning of June, end of June or mid Sept. Wondering what you think is the best pick and what's are the pros ans cons of each. Also is it likely you will see the Northern Lights in mid Sept? That is the only reason we would choose Sept as we would prefer it less cold. Are all attractions in the tour available for both months? Also is it a very physically grueling tour? How long are the walks? Are there little breaks?

    Yes you will have a better chance of seeing the Northern Lights at the end of Sept. This is when we start the Northern Lights tour and it is sold out for the month of Sept. The weather in June has highs in 57 ad lows 47 Sept. highs 48 lows 39. The itinerary is the same for both months. The availability is low for both dates so I would not wait to long to decide. Also the price is a little better at the end of Sept. The overall activity level of this tour is a level 4. This means you're ready to seize the day, whatever it may bring. You lead an active life at home (walking, biking, and half or full day hikes are things you may enjoy) and 10,000 steps a day is normal for you. You can handle longer walking tours (more than 3 hours covering 3+ miles at a steady clip) and activities that involve traversing uneven terrain, steep slopes, standing for periods of time, and varying altitudes and temperatures. You don't mind being on the go with some early starts, late-nights, and full days. You can handle altitudes of 9,000 feet or higher with little to no issue. This level is not appropriate for travelers who use wheelchairs, walkers, and other mobility assistance devices. Travel with just 16-24 guests on this tour where a smaller group setting means a more personal travel experience.

    We are wonering if you coudl provide a ittle more information. We wil be booking the Icelandic Adventure thru Collette but are trying to decide whether to book in June (either June 6 to June 15 OR June 27 to July 6) or in September (either Sep 12 to 21 OR Sep 19 to Sep 28). We would like to see the Northern Lights but not sure if they are visible during the September dates since this tour does not specifically seek out a place to view them (as your other tours do). We were wondering which locations (at nite) we visit on the Icelandic Tour would provide us an opportuntiy (% chance) to view the Northern Lights without us having to travel out at nite on our own. (assuming nights are clear) We are thinking if the chances are slim we would book a June date since it is warmer during those periods. If we select June dates, would June 6 to 15 or June 27 to July 6 be best?

    It looks like on the Magical Northern Lights the first tour leaves on Sept. 18th so for the Sept. 19th - 28th you may have a change to see the northern lights. The only place that this tour and the Northern Lights tour meet up is in Reykjavík and the Golden Circle. The day you do the Golden Circle cruise you have the evening free. You book an evening cruise and sail into the darkness of Faxaflói Bay in search of the aurora borealis, there are a few tour that will take you to see the Northern lights, these you would book on your own. Or you could arrive a day early to be able to do the same thing. The pre night is 380.00 for the room. The availability is low for this date the Sept. 26 - Oct. 5th has a little bit better availability. The June 27th - July 6th has the best availability and the 6 is very low. Please don't wait too long.

    Just to clarify, for the Collette Icelandic Adventure tour for period Sept 19 to 28, when we fly to Iceland from New Brunswick, Canada it shows Sept 19 as Day 1 of the tour for over night travel to Iceland with Sept 20 for tour of the capital city. My question, does the 10 day tour require us to travel over night on the 19/20 and then do a day tour on the 20th ...the same day we arrive in the morning? Therefore the tour is 8 nights in hotel (20th to 27th) , 2 days of travel (19/20th and 28th) 8 days of touring (20th to 27th).

    There is a flight restriction on 20th you need to be there prior to 10:00 am. Discover culture and history in Reykjav√≠k – Iceland's capital. Yes you have 8 nights in 5 hotels. the first and last days are travel days. That is why we suggest you do a pre or post night if there are any tour that we don't offer you can do on your own. There is only 1 seat left on the 19th, the Sept. 26 - Oct 5th has better availability but it is very low also, please don't wait too long.

  How long will be spent around thingavellir ? Will there be free time there ?

    We take a day trip from Reykjavik to Thingvellir National Forrest. We return to the hotel in the evening. The entirety of the Thingvellir excursion is guided although there will be free time that evening after we return to the hotel.
