How much is it to book a private room? Also, would I fly into Bangkok and fly home from Phuket? What do you recommend?

For this trip you will need to fly in to either airport in Bangkok: Suvarnabhumi International Airport (BKK) / Don Mueang International Airport (DMK). The trip will finish on the beautiful island of Phuket on the morning of Day 13. You can choose to stay on longer in Phuket and fly home from there if possible. Alternatively, if you need to get back to Bangkok the quickest option is a one hour internal flight. The earliest the Phuket to Bangkok flight should be booked is 8am on Day 13. The taxi can be booked locally, and the flight can be booked with a variety of airlines including Air Asia, Nok Air and Bangkok Air. For a private room on the Experience trip it would cost an extra £400. It wouldn't be possible to have a private room on the overnight train, and a private room in Sarana, Koh Phangan is dependant on availability.

I'm wanting to travel with my 21 yr old daughter to celebrate her college graduation, but I am a 51 yrs old. Would you allow us to book this tour?

what happens if our arrival flights are cancelled/ delayed ?

If your flight is delayed or cancelled, we would advise you to let us know as soon as possible so we can discuss the available options with you. If you're feeling concerned about potential disruptions, we recommend arriving one or two days before your trip begins. This can give you extra peace of mind and some time to settle in before the tour starts.

The majority of our group members are in their 20s and 30s, and we have a maximum cut off of 49, so unfortunately our tours are not be the best fit for you. We do hope you find a trip that suits you perfectly and that you have an amazing time in Thailand. It's such an incredible country!

We are over the age of 49. Does it matter? We are 63 and 67.

How many people will be on the tour departing 6th March and 9th March, and what is the age distribution? I'm 30 years old myself. Will there be many people in my age group or more in the 18-25 range?

So far we do not have any Germans on either of these dates but, the 6th March has an age range of 26-35, and the 11th March has an age range of 24-27.

I am interested in the tour from January 11-23. I'd like a private room. Is that possible?

We can certainly look into the possibility of a private room for you. However we do room you with someone of the same gender and try our best to room you with someone of a similar age. Group Members are in their hotel rooms for a very limited time throughout the trip, as there are activities most days and things planned most evenings. If you would like us to quote you for a private room please let us know your preferred currency and we will get that sent over to you. Please also note the trip on the 11th January is on request, we cannot confirm the availability until we have checked this with the local team.

Could I get an age exception for this tour?

Unfortunately, our tours do have a maximum age limit of 49, so we wouldn't be able to book you on to one of our trips. I'd definitely recommend checking out G Adventures or Intrepid Travel, as they both offer fantastic tours in Thailand and may be a perfect fit for what you're looking for.

Where to start… this was my first ever solo trip and I was certainly apprehensive about travelling in a new place...
Where to start… this was my first ever solo trip and I was certainly apprehensive about travelling in a new place with new people. However, from the first message that our group leader Paula sent, I felt at ease. It only got better from there. From rooftop bars in Bangkok, to visiting beautiful temples and learning about the culture. To kayaking in Khao Sok and to wild nights out with one too many buckets! To night markets, boat trips, Cabaret shows and an amazing jungle Treck and seeing the elephants. This trip had everything and more. All of the local guides were an expert in their field, and were happy to answer any questions. Tanya the Queen herself was amazing and brought so much fun to each day. Paula, our leader, is a credit to IntroTravel, nothing was ever too great an ask. She was always busy behind the scenes making sure everything went to plan. I was also lucky to be with such a good group that I can happily say are now my friends. The trip has pushed me out of my comfort zones in all the best ways (I ate a scorpion and yellow ants…?!) and I have so many incredible memories. As best quoted on our trip, it’s a once in a lifetime experience and I would recommend anyone to book onto an Intro Trip.. (I might be bias but I really hope you get Paula and Tanya as your guides!)Show more

I fully recommend the Thai Intro trip if you want to visit Thailand and don’t know where to start (take the 18 days because it is so worth it)! I did the 12 Day Intro Thailand Tour with Paula and Tanya. It was my first group trip and my first time visiting southeast Asia and I could not have had a better experience. To be fair, we were very lucky with the whole group as everyone got along very well and even when it was raining, we all just jumped in the pool together -we're wet anyways, might as well just make the best of it! However, Tanya was the sweetest and the life of the party even when she said that she was feeling low and Paula was always there for everyone and made sure we all felt safe, happy and welcome. They are simply the best and the trip would not have been the same without them. We saw Bangkok from above, partied the night away, visited temples, cooked Thai food, went on boat trips, and the national parks and islands we visited just kept getting more beautiful. It was a really good mix of city life, nature and learning about the local culture and traditions. Just check out the itinerary! There are so many highlights, but it still feels like a chill vacation because you do not have to worry about a thing on that trip. I'd definitely recommend this to anyone whether you are travelling with friends, family or by yourself. You will definitely have a great time and maybe even make some new friends from all over the world. :DShow more

I recently did the Thai Intro 12 day tour with IntroTravel and can honestly say it was one of the best trips I’ve ever done! From the people, to the experiences, the sights seen, the laughs had and everything in between it was an incredible experience. The tour was run so smoothly with all of our transport, tours, entrances into temples/ boat trips handled and communicated clearly, and was an absolute testament to Paula. I joined the 12 day Intro trip to Thailand. After researching many travel groups, I picked Intro Travel because I found the dates, timeline, and itinerary to best fit what I was looking for. And overall, the trip did not disappoint. One thing I did before the trip was called the company to get the demographics of individuals already signed up in the trip. It was very important to have other guys on the trip with me. The receptionist was very helpful and encouraging letting me know the age and sex of individuals signed up. As an American I was worried if I would fit in with all the other people on the trip, but I found that part to be the most exciting once I joined- meeting individuals from around the globe that I normally don’t get it interact with. We are all much more similar than we are different! And last, my leaders - Paula and Tanya. They could not have been any more fabulous. They made the trip so special and were so well prepared. I just completed the 12 day Thai Intro tour with Intro Travel. Highly recommend for first-time solo travellers or travellers (like me) who have limited time to explore a country. The tour was perfectly paced - saw loads without it feeling too overloaded. Rest days were well timed, and really felt like I was getting good value for money. There was nothing I didn’t enjoy! All the accommodations were basic but clean - no issues at all. Remember to bring your own shampoo/shower gel as these are not provided at all locations! Age range was on the younger side. I am 24. I still had loads of fun but did feel slightly older than the majority. However, it was fun to be around people of different ages to me!! One thing I would raise is that all Thai intro tours are grouped together, so you will be in a mixed group of 9/12/18/dive travellers. I don’t think this is super clear on the website. This wasn’t a huge problem for me, but it was a shame to lose people at day 9, and then to leave everyone at day 12 while the rest of the group continues. Just would have been good to know explicitly ahead of the trip! Finally I have to sing the praises of Emma P, our group leader. She really went above and beyond for our group from the moment she met me at the hotel on Day 1. She was such a positive energy, bringing the vibes without fail every single day! She made me feel completely at ease throughout the entire trip. I wanted to feel like I was properly on holiday and not have to plan/think about anything (other than what I eat that evening!!!) and Emma made that happen for me! Anyone who has her as a leader - you are in safe (and super fun) hands and you’re going to have a fantastic time!Show more

what happens if our arrival flights are cancelled/ delayed ?

  If your flight is delayed or cancelled, we would advise you to let us know as soon as possible so we can discuss the available options with you.
  
  If you're feeling concerned about potential disruptions, we recommend arriving one or two days before your trip begins. This can give you extra peace of mind and some time to settle in before the tour starts.

How many people will be on the tour departing 6th March and 9th March, and what is the age distribution? I'm 30 years old myself. Will there be many people in my age group or more in the 18-25 range?

  So far we do not have any Germans on either of these dates but, the 6th March has an age range of 26-35, and the 11th March has an age range of 24-27.

  We can certainly look into the possibility of a private room for you. However we do room you with someone of the same gender and try our best to room you with someone of a similar age. Group Members are in their hotel rooms for a very limited time throughout the trip, as there are activities most days and things planned most evenings. If you would like us to quote you for a private room please let us know your preferred currency and we will get that sent over to you. Please also note the trip on the 11th January is on request, we cannot confirm the availability until we have checked this with the local team.

  Unfortunately, our tours do have a maximum age limit of 49, so we wouldn't be able to book you on to one of our trips. I'd definitely recommend checking out G Adventures or Intrepid Travel, as they both offer fantastic tours in Thailand and may be a perfect fit for what you're looking for.

Visa
- Unfortunately we cannot offer you a visa application service. Whether you need a visa or not depends on your nationality and where you wish to travel. Assuming your home country does not have a visa agreement with the country you're planning to visit, you will need to apply for a visa in advance of your scheduled departure.
- Here is an indication for which countries you might need a visa. Please contact the local embassy for help applying for visas to these places.
Payment information
- For any tour departing before September 9th, 2026 a full payment is necessary. For tours departing after September 9th, 2026, a minimum payment of 25% is required to confirm your booking with INTRO Travel. The final payment will be automatically charged to your credit card on the designated due date. The final payment of the remaining balance is required at least 35 days prior to the departure date of your tour. TourRadar never charges you a booking fee and will charge you in the stated currency.
- Some departure dates and prices may vary and INTRO Travel will contact you with any discrepancies before your booking is confirmed.
- The following cards are accepted for "INTRO Travel" tours: Visa, Maestro, Mastercard, American Express or PayPal. TourRadar does NOT charge you an extra fee for using any of these payment methods.
