Itinerary
- Day 1
Split
You'll arrive in Split and check into your accommodation. There's a welcome meeting at 6 pm, but if you get there with time to spare, head down to the waterfront for a stroll or grab some gelato. The Old Town's worth wandering through too if you're interested in Roman architecture, museums, and local shops. After the meeting wraps up, you'll join the group for dinner at a local restaurant where you can try some Dalmatian dishes.

- Day 2
Split to Blidinje Nature Park
After breakfast, you're heading into Bosnia and Herzegovina to reach Blidinje Nature Park, where you'll have some free time to explore on your own. In the afternoon, a mountain guide leads you on a hike through the Dinaric Alps, starting from Vitlenica point and heading toward Hajducka Vrata (Outlaw's Gate). You'll rest at a scenic plateau on Cvrsnica Mountain and if the weather cooperates, stick around after sunset to stargaze from the high altitude.

Blidinje to Sarajevo
You've got a free morning in Blidinje before traveling to Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina's capital. Once you arrive, the afternoon and evening are yours to figure out. The National Museum offers insight into the city's history, or you can walk through the Old Town and cross the Latin Bridge. If you're interested, look for the Sarajevo roses, which mark where mortar shells landed during the 1990s conflict.

- Day 4
Sarajevo to Umoljani
You'll travel to Umoljani and then set out on a guided hike in the Bjelasnica Mountain area (this region hosted the 1984 Winter Olympics). The loop trail takes you through Lukomir, Bosnia's highest and most remote village, known for old stone houses and traditional clothing. You'll meet locals, share lunch or Bosnian coffee, and hear about the region's history before returning to Umoljani Village for the night.

Umoljani to Zabljak (Durmitor National Park)
Today's a longer travel day as you drive to Zabljak, the main town in Durmitor National Park and the highest city in the Balkans. Bring a book or podcasts for the journey. Once you settle in, explore at your own pace, whether that's a walk around town, a visit to Crno Lake (Black Lake), or a swim in the glacial lakes if you're up for it.

- Day 6
Zabljak (Durmitor National Park)
After breakfast, you're hiking from the main entrance of Durmitor National Park through UNESCO World Heritage landscapes with pine forests, mountains, rivers, and glacial lakes. The final push leads to one of the best viewpoints overlooking Tara Canyon. You'll rest at the top and take in the views, then travel to Gusinje, a small village on the Montenegro-Albania border.

Gusinje (Prokletije Mountains)
After breakfast, you'll hike along the ridge of the Prokletije Mountains, heading toward the Popadija and Talijanka peaks. You get front-row views of the towering Karanfili peaks and can see the Grbaja Valley spread out below. After you're back in town, find a local restaurant for dinner and wind down from your day on the trail.

Gusinje to Theth
You're crossing into Albania, the fourth and final country on this adventure. You'll stop in Theth, one of the Albanian Alps' highlights and declared a Protected Historic Center by the government. The narrow roads, livestock in fields, and small stone buildings give it a fairytale quality. You can swim at the Grunasi Waterfall or just relax and settle into your accommodation for the evening.

- Day 9
Theth to Valbona
Lace up your hiking boots for a guided walk through the Accursed Mountains. You'll take in views across the pine-dotted valley below and snow-capped alps above. After your hike, head to your guesthouse in Valbona Valley and gather with the group for an authentic Albanian dinner.

Valbona to Tirana
After breakfast, you're taking a scenic private boat ride to Koman. Watch as mountains drop straight into turquoise lake waters. Midway through, you'll stop for refreshments and an optional swim if you want to jump in the cool water. Once you reach Tirana, your local leader gives you a short orientation walk around Albania's capital, then you're free to explore on your own or join the group for a final dinner together.
