I am interested in taking a tour of Southeast Asia. I do not need a visa for Thailand but I do for all the other countries. I have applied for and received a Vietnam eVisa. Can you do that for Laos/Cambodia and I can get this done well in advance?

    Visa
    • PrestiGo AsiaOperatorWritten October 2025

Regarding the eVisa, please rest assured that you can easily obtain both Cambodia and Laos visas on arrival at the airport. However, if you prefer to apply for the visas in advance, you'll need to wait until early next year.

If I can get a flight from Laos to India then yeah I can book the tour. I looked at Luang Prabang it seems quite isolated and the only direct flights they have are to Hanoi, Bangkok and Siem Rap. None to India.

    • PrestiGo AsiaOperatorWritten October 2025

You will need to take a connecting flight via a neighboring country. A common option is to fly from Luang Prabang to Bangkok, where there are approximately 3-4 flights per day to both Don Mueang (DMK) and Suvarnabhumi (BKK) airports.

I noticed on tour radar there is a Sherpa evisa service that allows travellers like me to get evisas in advance. How much are the on arrival airport visas for Laos and Cambodia?

    • PrestiGo AsiaOperatorWritten November 2025

For the Evisa, you can get it upon arrival and the price is around 30 USD per person

    • D

      Diana

      TravelerWritten November 2025

That's a lot cheaper than getting an evisa in advance which is double the price in Cambodia and four times the price in Laos. So I will take your wise advice and get the visas on arrival.

What hotel are we staying in Bangkok (4 star selection)? I wanted to see what there is nearby (food and activity wise)for our free and easy day. I'm assuming the elephant sanctuary provides a change of clothes. Do they provide shoes also? I saw that Thailand is strict with medications. I checked the list and none of mine are controlled and in the 2 category. Do I need a doctors note or are they ok in the prescription bottle with the label?

Bangkok Hotel: You will be staying at a 4-star hotel - Mandarin Bangkok By Centerpoint. It's centrally located, so there are plenty of nearby options for dining, shopping, and activities for your free and easy day. Elephant Sanctuary: Yes, the sanctuary provides a change of clothes for visitors. However, they do not provide shoes, so please bring a pair of comfortable shoes suitable for walking in mud or water. Medications: Since none of your medications are controlled and are in category 2, they are generally fine as long as they are in the original prescription bottles with labels. A doctor's note is not strictly required, but it can be helpful just in case you are asked about them at customs.

Are nicotine ecigs and vapes still illegal to have for personal use?

    • PrestiGo AsiaOperatorWritten October 2025

As of 2025, Vietnam has officially banned the import, sale, and use of all electronic cigarettes and heated tobacco products. This means travelers should not bring or use vape devices in Vietnam. Authorities may impose fines if caught using or carrying them, even for personal use. For your tour in Vietnam, we recommend not bringing e-cigarettes or vape devices to avoid any issues at customs or during your trip.

We don't understand the sharp increase in price for the hotel upgrades per person. When we can finalize our dates and are ready to book, can we get a better price on the room upgrades?

    • PrestiGo AsiaOperatorWritten October 2025

Once you've finalized your travel dates, I'll check with our team to see if there are any better rates available for the upgraded hotel options. You can book the 3-star accommodation first and if you decide to upgrade to a 4-star or 5-star hotel later, you can easily do that through the tour operator.

I'm looking at potentially booking this tour. However, I have some food allergies that I'm wondering about accommodation. I can't have gluten/wheat or shellfish. Regular fish is fine, just nothing in a shell. Can both of these be accommodated? How easy is it to avoid gluten/wheat? I've heard it can be difficult with the language barrier.

    • PrestiGo AsiaOperatorWritten June 2025

We completely understand your concerns regarding food allergies, and we're happy to let you know that we can accommodate both gluten/wheat and shellfish allergies. You have a daily breakfast at your accommodation and there are so many selections to avoid the gluten/wheat. ( My recommendation, you consider upgrade the accommodation to 4* or 5* to get more option on food) For gluten/wheat, we understand it can be more challenging, especially in countries where gluten-free awareness is still developing. However, with advance notice like yours, we're able to make special arrangements to avoid gluten-containing items. You'll also have a guide who can help communicate your needs in the local language during meals.
