We are booked for Sept 18th in Duoro River cruise, is it possible for the bed to be made up separately (i.e. single beds and bedding?) Also are Grade A cabins on lowest deck or top deck - it is not made clear on the deck plans which decks are high or low!! Also are there any fridges to be had on board, I like to have an icepack for painful knee.

Can I get a single rate? i am travelling alone

It seems there is not a single supplement option, is that correct? Do I have to pay for two adults?

At the moment we only have availability for single cabins on request which means we need to contact the operator directly when/if you decide to book to confirm your spot. At the moment the only cabins available are categories A,C,D, and F. In a single cabin category A (which is the lower price at the moment) departing on May 17, 2023, on deck 1. The total comes to €3,238.40 which is approximately $3,170.95 USD. Please note this price does not include international flights, shore excursions, airport transfers, or gratuities.

I couldn't find how to access diff cabin styles and related costs. Also I have looked at quite a few diff companies cruises. Cost wise you are the most reasonable with prices going as high as $9,000 pp and various in between. They seem to have very similar itineraries and duration. I wonder if you could tell me honestly the difference in what get for price?

Excellent trip made more memorable by the outstanding crew of A Rosa ALVA. Cruise Director Gaby made us feel welcome and ensured we made the most of tour and excursion opportunities when at port. Our trip was impacted by circumstances totally out of A Rosa’s control and their management and ‘work arounds’ were faultless. We especially enjoyed our multi national guests who went out of their way to be inclusive and welcoming. Language differences were no barrier with all announcements being made in English and German. Likewise all of our tours where we had the pleasure of Mario describing the action in English. Highly recommend A Rosa and would happily travel with them again. Thank you!Show more

Our overall impression of Douro Experience 2025 (or first experience of a River Cruise vacation) was excellent, however there are some improvements we believe are needed... TourRadar staff were always timely in responding to questions! On the plus side, all ships staff (from Cruise Director on down) were consistently courteous and helpful in every respect and every regard! During the booking phase, we found interaction between TourRadar website and punch-out to A-Rosa website was problematic at times (duplicated excursion bookings in particular, as well as incorrect information transfer to/from ships manifest). Tour is advertised as offered in German AND English and although signage and menus were translated equally, lounge cultural presentations and guide narratives were definitely strongly slanted to German (based on length of presentations, English was experienced to be clearly second tier). Furthermore, the English translation of food buffet items from German was on a second (and almost unreadable smaller font ) second line. Food was consistently well prepared and inviting, however there are definite improvements needed we observed as experienced with regard to my wife's "gluten sensitivity" dietary constraints - yes there is a gluten free bread offering readily available but no gluten free "pastry" offerings (identified as such)? Although the main entree offerings are clearly identified as to all contained allergens, none of the "salad bar", appetizer, or desert offerings are similarly identified!? We greatly appreciated our Dining Room Stewardess (Ms. Anna's) diligence in running back and forth to the kitchen to ascertain (and advise) which items would be acceptable to a gluten restricted dietary regimen. Embarkation (and disembarkation) procedures were well planned and worked smoothly! Again, overall a wonderful experience, with some need for improvements....Show more

The operator has also advised single supplements might not be an option for this specific itinerary because of the high demand, but we can offer other alternatives led by A-ROSA as well.

  I'll be traveling solo, so I'll have no 2nd passenger information to include. Can I at least select that a child is going instead an adult? It's only me who will be eating, using towel, other any other amenities on the cruise. It doesn't seem right that I would need to pay for an second adult vs the lower price child option when no extra food or services will be used.
