Delightful trip on the Douro. Great to have a happy crew who assisted queries efficiently and with a smile. Food was great and we met some lovely fellow travellers. Entertainment on the last evening was hilarious. A Fado group, dancing initiated by the Hotel Manager, beautiful music by the resident pianist and a surprise karaoke by one of our fellow passengers. Songs we all knew meant lots of singing, smiles and memories to take away. I would sail on the Spirit of Chartwell again in a heartbeat.
Douro Luxury Cruise - Spirit of Chartwell (4 Days)Our river cruise was better than we imagined. The entire staff was friendly and welcoming. The food was delicious and the wine and beer a pleasant surprise. The valley was beautiful and going through the locks was a special bonus. The only negative thing I have is the location of our cabin was near the engines and noisy when they would start up in the morning. I highly recommend This river cruise. I hope to go back one day and do it again. Thank you for the great memories.
DOURO EXPRESS, MS DOURO CRUISER: PORTO - PORTO (6 days)Absolutely loved it! The boat was great, really comfortable and the food was amazing. Crew ere all lovely and very efficient.. Included excursions were an unexpected bonus and the scenery was spectacular. The only downside was the selfish people who insisted on placing towels on the loungers first thing in the morning and leaving them there all day to reserve the place - even when they weren't on board!!
