Cruising along the Douro River is a wonderful way to experience Portugal's famous wine region, terraced vineyards, charming riverside towns, and stunning scenery, all while enjoying the comfort of your ship. It's a very relaxing and scenic journey, with plenty to see both on and off the water. For this itinerary, the cruise will start and end in Porto, so you will need to arrange your travel to Porto in order to board the ship at the departure point.

Are excursions included in price? We are travelling from Vancouvern Canada. Do you have any specials with airlines.

Overall an excellent trip, accommodation, food and staff were all excellent. The only down sides were the lack of communication from the ship prior to departure, in that they did not reply to any requests for confirmation of booked excursions despite stating that they reply within 24 hours. Also the Douro river valley is in places very steep and this cut off all Telephone and Internet connections for hours at a time as they obviously use the mobile network for internet. It would be a good idea if they had Starlink.Show more

We had a wonderful time on this A-Rosa Duoro river cruise. The accommodation was very good, the boat modern and food excellent. The pool on the top was more like a kids paddle pool and not that well used. Our package included cocktails and wines and they good. The staff were very helpful. I would say 70% of guests were German and they had their own Tours meeting everyday in the lounge to explain the next stops but this was not repeated in English. On the actual tours there were 2 buses for German speaking guests and 1 bus for English speaking guests with a lovely tour guide. The German guests on board were really friendly to us and the majority could speak English as well. I would definitely recommend this tour as the Douro river is lovely and so relaxing and was very good value overall.Show more
