The options for those not doing the glacier walk were limited with quite a bit of waiting around for those that did the glacier walk. A walk for the rest of us near the glacier could have been suggested. Since it was predicted in advance that the eclipse would not be visible from Reykjavic might we not have made a detour to the place that Icelanders went to to see it? I expect we'd all have been willing to chip in for the driver's overtime!Show more

Overall, we enjoyed our tour of Poland. Most of the accommodations and included breakfasts were very good. The bus transportation was comfortable, and the drivers were competent. Our program director Daniel was sweet and helpful. We felt the pace of travel was good, with stops in smaller towns to visit churches and historical sites providing a nice break during the longer drives and a good amount of free time built into our stops in the larger cities so we could wander, shop, and do our own thing. Our favorite experiences included the very interesting Solidarity Center in Gdansk, the Elblag Canal visit, the open-air village museum, and the tour of Malbork Castle, where we would have liked even more time to enjoy the displays. We were a bit disappointed in the optional Wieliczka Salt Mines tour, which involved a lot of walking and just wasn't as interesting as we had hoped it would be. The canal boat tour in Wroclaw was a total waste of time and should be dropped from the itinerary. A professional tour guide at Auschwitz-Birkenau should have been included in the visit to add more depth of knowledge to the experience. We felt this tour provided a good way to experience the highlights of Poland over eight days.Show more
