We have a traveler interested in the 4-day tour from Darwin to Kakadu and Katherine. They are fit but over 80 years of age and would like to know if there is any issue with them joining the group. Also, they are curious about the type of vehicle used for the trip.

There is no strict upper age limit for this tour, however we do recommend that all travellers are reasonably fit and comfortable with walking on uneven ground, getting on and off the vehicle regularly, and spending time outdoors in warm conditions. For guests over 80, we would suggest they are confident with this level of activity, and ideally travel with any relevant support needs in mind. If they are in good health and used to active travel, they are generally welcome to join us but we do ask passengers over 75 to provide a medical certificate from their doctors just confirming this. Regarding the vehicle, this 4-day Darwin to Kakadu & Katherine tour is operated using a tour style air-conditioned coach.

We are a party of 3 adults, 1 couple and a single traveller. We want 2 individual private rooms for accommodation. What is the cost for each please? Our dates would have to start either Sept 13 or 14 th September 2026. Is either available?

This tour is designed to be a relaxed and enjoyable experience. We do include several scenic walks across the four days, but they're all intended to be manageable for most fitness levels. If at any point you're not comfortable joining a walk, just let your guide know, They'll be happy to suggest an alternative or a nice spot to relax while the group explores. Have just returned from 4 event packed days in Kakadu with our guide Jay Bichard from Autopia tours. I couldn't be more complimentary of the tour. We travelled lots of kms in the 4WD vehicle with a nice sized group of 9 travelers. The tour brochure accurately covers what you will see and do, so does not need to be replicated here. Tour Guide Jay was phenomenal - pleasant, engaging, energetic, organized, knowledgeable, and a good manager of the group. Its long, hard days being a tour guide like this, and we appreciated she was always bubbly smiling and informative. Hence we stayed on schedule to see all that we hoped to see. Accommodation in motels was fine and comfortable especially given the remoteness. Food was practical, tasty and adequate given where were travelling. You need to have a reasonable level of physical fitness to do some of the walks - especially into Jim Jim falls. However, all our group were able to reach the destinations. Very enjoyable, and I felt good value for money. Highly recommended as a reasonably good 'taster' of the Kakadu national park.Show more

  If you went for our dorm basic room type there are no additional costs but if you wanted a private room it will cost a little bit more for a solo traveller. We ask for a medical waiver from your doctor for anyone over the age of 70 that simply says you are fit to travel.
