A fully guided 5day option with 4 nights of accommodation in twin/double rooms would be about 16000 USD, just a little over 1000 USD per person in a group of 15. A smaller group would mean a higher cost per person, just let us know if you are looking for a smaller group experience! Activities such as an Ice Cave Tour, The Northern Lights Boat tour or a Lava Tunnel Experience can be about 500 USD per person, depending on which specific activities you decide to.

My flight only lands at 16:00 in the afternoon. Will it still possible to do the boat? Or can I do the boat on the last day?

The boat departs from the harbor between 9:00 - 10:00 PM, so you should be able to make it on Day 1. This will allow you enough time to check in at the hotel first and then proceed to the harbor, provided your flight arrives as scheduled and there are no delays.

I wanted to see if it would be possible to add one more person to the group if they decide to do so? They are a group of 7, so they would then do 4 shared rooms.

It is possible to add another person to the group, as long as we have availability. At the moment, we still have around 10 seats available on this tour. Keeping in mind that their tour is during the Christmas season, we recommend booking the additional seat as soon as possible.

If my mom and I both have a carry on backpack and checked piece of luggage would this be allowed on the tour.

Each customer is allowed to have a small backpack up to 5 kg and a suitcase up to 20 kg. In this case, as you do not exceed the luggage allowance, you can bring your luggage with you on the tour.

is it possible to have transfers from the airport to the hotel and vise versa? if so, what is that cost and if that is not an option would you be able to provide some insight on how to set this up? Also with lodging, do you all have to pair solo travelers together? If so, how can this be changed

I did a customised version of this trip with Arctic Adventures. Going in I had a rough idea of what to expect, glaciers, waterfalls, maybe some Northern Lights if I got lucky. Came away with so much more than that. The landscapes are unreal. Did the glacier hike on Vatnajökull with crampons strapped on, which was a first for me and easily one of the best things I’ve ever done. Jökulsárlón was breathtaking, ice caves and lava tunnels were brilliant fun, and the black sand beaches genuinely don’t look real in person. Then the Northern Lights turned up properly one night near Hof, dancing about for a good half hour right above us. Absolutely magical, and a lovely surprise on top of everything else. What made the trip though was how well the whole thing was put together. Pacing was spot on, no rushing between stops and no filler days padding it out. Guides were fantastic, properly knew their stuff and great company on the longer drives. Hotels and food were way better than I’d expected too, nothing flashy, just well chosen and comfortable after long days out in the cold. Every day brought something new and the whole group was buzzing by the end of it. You really do come away feeling like you’ve seen the best of Iceland, not just the postcard version. The Arctic Adventures team were absolute stars throughout. Felt looked after the whole way, never felt like just another group being shuffled along. Would do it again tomorrow.Show more

The accomodation in Reykjavik, ïsland Hotel, is way too far out from the centre given that folks on this tour don't have transportation. It's an ~ 80 minute walk to the centre. Unfortunately due to weather, the day 1 Northern Lights boat trip was cancelled, so we were not able to take it. I applied for the refund, from Arctic Adventures, who did refund the money, however, they sent it to Tourradar. My expection is that refund be sent to me promptly, however, to date it hasn't been. Our guide Helga was an excellent driver, friendly and very informative. The minibus we had had at least two seatbelts that didn't work, and on day 2, a rock shattered the L first row window outer pane, leaving only one pane. This bus should have been changed for safety both within and out of the bus. What happened is the entire pane of glass broke off bit by bit as we drove. Our Geirland accomodation was okay, but given that we were in the land of hot springs, a hot tub at the accomodation would have been reasonable. There was also no access to a fridge for those who did not want to eat at the restaurant. The glacier hike with our excellent guide Ola - friendly and super helpful - was fantastic.Show more

  Yes, to guarantee stay in a private single room a supplement of 56,000 ISK has to be added to the booking. If the fee is not added, you may be roomed together with another traveler of the same gender. During the main sightseeing portion of this tour, the biggest group size is 18 people. There are currently at least 10 people joining on September 1st.

  When making the booking, you should be able to choose the single room supplement as an extra item. If not, then we will add it when the reservation is confirmed. It certainly is possible to see the Northern Lights at the start of September, but you should keep in mind that it's a natural phenomenon so it is not possible to guarantee the best conditions. The tour you're interested in has two dedicated Northern Lights excursions which will certainly improve your chances. Unfortunately, we do not offer accommodation outside of what's included in the tour package not do we have any special rates at hotels for our customers.

  Keeping in mind your desired date of the tour, the glacier hike and ice cave tour will be included in the itinerary of the tour.
  
  If you arrive to Iceland at around 19:00 PM, you will have to go through airport procedures, collect your luggage and catch the transfer to Reykjavik. Unfortunately, it would be impossible to make it on time for the Northern Lights by boat tour as the airport procedures and the trip from the airport to Reykjavik can take around 2 hours or even more.
  In such cases, we suggest our customers to start their tour a day later, just to avoid any additional stress if there are any flight delays or cancellations and so that they could enjoy their desired adventure in full.

Our travel protection from our award-winning partner, XCover, means you and your travel companions can book with peace of mind knowing there’s protection available in case your trip doesn’t go to plan.
