Dear Irene, thank you for sharing your experience with us! We are truly happy to hear that both Helga and Ola provided such excellent guidance, this is exactly what we aim for. It is also great that the glacier hike was such a highlight of your trip, and we are pleased you enjoyed that experience. We are sorry that Hotel Ísland felt too far from the city center. Accommodation in Reykjavik is selected to balance availability, comfort, and logistics for multi-day tours, though we understand that distance from the city center can be less convenient without personal transport. Regarding the refund process, when travelers book through third‑party providers, the refund process may take a bit longer. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. We also appreciate you bringing up your concerns about the vehicle. Safety is always a top priority, and your feedback has been shared with our operations. Your suggestion about hot‑springs is also important in helping us enhance the tours and will be taken into consideration by our product team. Thank you again for your valuable feedback and for traveling with Arctic Adventures. We hope to welcome you back to Iceland for an even smoother experience next time! Best Regards, Arctic Adventures Team

Is there anyway I can pay a single supplement to get my own room?

    • D

      Douglas

      TravelerWritten July 2026

do you guys provide a single supplement for a private room and if so, how much more is that? Also, what is the maximum amount of people you have per tour and how many are signed up for the September 1 departure?

    • Arctic AdventuresOperatorWritten July 2026

Yes, to guarantee stay in a private single room a supplement of 56,000 ISK has to be added to the booking. If the fee is not added, you may be roomed together with another traveler of the same gender. During the main sightseeing portion of this tour, the biggest group size is 18 people. There are currently at least 10 people joining on September 1st.

    • D

      Douglas

      TravelerWritten July 2026

How do I add the single supplement do I is there a place for me to do it during my booking? Also, do you provide airport transfers to the hotel? Are there relatively decent odds of seeing them?

    • D

      Douglas

      TravelerWritten July 2026

if I wanted to arrive a day early could I book a special rate through the tour and what hotel would that be?

    • Arctic AdventuresOperatorWritten July 2026

When making the booking, you should be able to choose the single room supplement as an extra item. If not, then we will add it when the reservation is confirmed. It certainly is possible to see the Northern Lights at the start of September, but you should keep in mind that it's a natural phenomenon so it is not possible to guarantee the best conditions. The tour you're interested in has two dedicated Northern Lights excursions which will certainly improve your chances. Unfortunately, we do not offer accommodation outside of what's included in the tour package not do we have any special rates at hotels for our customers.

    • D

      Douglas

      TravelerWritten July 2026

If I were to book the tour and pay the $318 and get the travel insurance if I need to cancel the tour between now and the end of July, would I get that $318 back? I'll probably want to fly in a day early and I'd like to stay at the same hotel where the tourist staying do you have the name of that hotel so I can book direct?

    • Arctic AdventuresOperatorWritten July 2026

Our cancellation policy for multi-day tours is 100% refund if cancelled 24 hours or more before departure, so if you book in September and have to cancel in July, you will receive a full refund. We will reserve the hotel in Reykjavik only once the booking is confirmed, so we cannot share the name of the hotel at the moment.

Would you like this tour to be fully guided for 5 days or are you looking for three days with pre and post accommodation?

A fully guided 5day option with 4 nights of accommodation in twin/double rooms would be about 16000 USD, just a little over 1000 USD per person in a group of 15. A smaller group would mean a higher cost per person, just let us know if you are looking for a smaller group experience!

Activities such as an Ice Cave Tour, The Northern Lights Boat tour or a Lava Tunnel Experience can be about 500 USD per person, depending on which specific activities you decide to.

    Asked on January 23rd, 2026

    Flights / Transfers
    Tour Details
    • Arctic AdventuresOperatorWritten January 2026

The boat departs from the harbor between 9:00 - 10:00 PM, so you should be able to make it on Day 1. This will allow you enough time to check in at the hotel first and then proceed to the harbor, provided your flight arrives as scheduled and there are no delays.

      TravelerWritten January 2026

If I arrived 19.00 at iceand, do i able to catch the first day of tour to see aurora boat

    • Arctic AdventuresOperatorWritten January 2026

Keeping in mind your desired date of the tour, the glacier hike and ice cave tour will be included in the itinerary of the tour.

If you arrive to Iceland at around 19:00 PM, you will have to go through airport procedures, collect your luggage and catch the transfer to Reykjavik. Unfortunately, it would be impossible to make it on time for the Northern Lights by boat tour as the airport procedures and the trip from the airport to Reykjavik can take around 2 hours or even more.
In such cases, we suggest our customers to start their tour a day later, just to avoid any additional stress if there are any flight delays or cancellations and so that they could enjoy their desired adventure in full.

    Accommodation
    Group size
    • Arctic AdventuresOperatorWritten January 2026

It is possible to add another person to the group, as long as we have availability. At the moment, we still have around 10 seats available on this tour. Keeping in mind that their tour is during the Christmas season, we recommend booking the additional seat as soon as possible.

  • L

    Linda

    Asked on September 3rd, 2025

If my mom and I both have a carry on backpack and checked piece of luggage would this be allowed on the tour.

    Transport
    • Arctic AdventuresOperatorWritten September 2025

Each customer is allowed to have a small backpack up to 5 kg and a suitcase up to 20 kg. In this case, as you do not exceed the luggage allowance, you can bring your luggage with you on the tour.

    Accommodation
    Flights / Transfers
    • Arctic AdventuresOperatorWritten September 2025

    • Arctic AdventuresOperatorWritten September 2025

We only accommodate our customers for the duration of the tour. We send out the itinerary 7-14 days before the tour. Usually, we book Hotel Island Spa and Wellness hotel for the first night of the tour, however, the hotel may be changed due to availability issues.

    • Arctic AdventuresOperatorWritten February 2025

Our tours typically accommodate small groups up to 18 people to ensure a personalized experience. While the number of participants can vary, we often have solo travelers like yourself joining our adventures. The average age of our guests ranges from mid-20s to late 50s, fostering a diverse and engaging group dynamic.

    • Arctic AdventuresOperatorWritten February 2025

The glacier hike is an integral part of our tour itinerary and is included in the package at no additional cost, but it is only happening from 15th of April. In the winter months we visit Crystal Ice Cave (also included).

    • Arctic AdventuresOperatorWritten February 2025

We partner with a selection of comfortable hotels and guesthouses for our tours. Specific accommodations are confirmed closer to the departure date and are subject to availability. Rest assured, all selected accommodations meet our quality standards to ensure a pleasant stay.

    • Arctic AdventuresOperatorWritten February 2025

We do not provide accommodation before or after the tour. However, we recommend booking a hotel in Reykjavík for any extra nights. If you need suggestions, we'd be happy to provide recommendations.

    • Arctic AdventuresOperatorWritten February 2025

For solo travelers who opt for shared accommodations, we pair guests with roommates of the same gender to ensure comfort and privacy. If you prefer a private room, single supplements are available upon request for an additional fee.

    • Arctic AdventuresOperatorWritten February 2025

We recommend the Flybus service for transfers between Keflavík International Airport and Reykjavík. A one-way ticket costs approximately $30 USD, and the buses are scheduled to align with flight arrivals and departures for your convenience.
