Frankfurt to Speyer
You'll board your river cruise ship in Frankfurt after your flight lands by 3 pm. Get settled into your suite, and then the ship departs for an evening cruise to Speyer. You need to be on board by 5 pm, so plan your airport transfer accordingly.

Speyer to Strasbourg
In Heidelberg, you have two options to choose from. Either take a guided tour of Heidelberg Castle and see the Great Vat, which is the world's largest wine barrel, then head to the local German Christmas markets. Or if you prefer a quieter morning, stay on deck and relax before visiting Speyer's Christmas markets on your own. Back on board this evening, there's live entertainment before you cruise to Strasbourg.

Strasbourg to Breisach
Start your day exploring Strasbourg's gothic cathedral with its stained-glass windows and astronomical clock, then walk through the charming La Petite France District. You can either join a guided tour to a wine-country village in Alsace, or spend your afternoon checking out Strasbourg's French winter markets with their lights and festive atmosphere. By evening, the ship heads to Breisach.

Breisach to Basel
You'll pick between two guided tours: explore Freiburg's medieval city center in the Black Forest with its vineyards and gardens, or experience the Black Forest's local traditions and Christmas atmosphere. In the afternoon, you can optionally join a guided visit to the medieval village of Colmar with its half-timbered buildings, or browse Breisach's Christmas Markets on your own. The ship then cruises to Basel for the evening.
