Is this tour primarily in the bus. Very few hotels

This is a 6 day, 5 night tour and the accommodation for all 5 nights are in hotels. Since this trip packs in quite a lot in a few days the driving time is really just spent getting from one place to the next but then all day is spent doing various hikes/walks/sightseeing. Overall no, the tour is not primarily on the bus, it's spent out exploring the various national parks you'll see on this trip!

I just noticed that this trip has a 15+ restriction. Our grandchildren are 14, 12, 12, 11. Does this mean, we would be unable to join this group/trip. Please advise

I'm afraid the age restrictions are quite strict. On some tours we may be able to be flexible within 12 months (so 14 at the time of travel) but we would not be able to make exceptions for anyone younger. We do have Family-style tours that allow families to travel with children 5+ years old which would work for your group but I'm afraid we do not offer a similar itinerary or any Family options for the USA at this time.

Is this just one hotel stay in Las Vegas? If so can I bring my service dog to stay at the hotel while we hike?

What is the disability that the assistance dog provides support for (e.g. vision impairment, autism, seizures, psychological support)? Have you researched what the local laws or requirements (i.e. vaccinations, quarantine) are for travelling to and within your chosen destination with an assistance dog? In some destinations assistance dogs may not be allowed in hotels, restaurants, vehicles or other public places. Solo travellers with assistance dogs may be required to book a single supplement. Please confirm you are aware of and agree to this. We will need to let other travellers in your group know in advance that you will be travelling with a dog in case of any allergies or phobias. Please confirm that you consent to this.

We are able to assist and cater for those with dietary restrictions, including vegetarianism. Accommodation for this trip will be an average 3*, and all nights will be in hotels. Our accommodation is based on twin-share as well, so as a solo you'd be roomed with another solo traveller of the same gender. A single supplement is available if you'd prefer not to share a room on this trip. The single supplement applies to all nights on your trip and is subject to availability. Group size max is 12. Minimum age is 15 years old, and we do not have a maximum age cap for this trip. Average age on these Original style trips can vary a lot from departure to departure however a general average is usually 30-60 years of age.

Is it possible to book additional days to rest? What is the price difference for a single traveler taking a single room?

We are able to assist in arranging post accommodations at the ending point if you wished to stay longer once the trip ends. Pricing depends on your dates. A single supplement is available if you prefer not to share a room. The single supplement applies to all nights and costs an additional €505.

Are the mentioned hikes in Zion and Bryce - instructor led - meaning will the instructor hike along with us or there will be dedicated time given and we have to hike on our own and be back by the time? Also by what usually the day ends and we are back to hotel? Can other activities be added for the evening like bike tour or star gazing (definitely at additional cost)?

Yes, the hikes in Zion and Bryce Canyon are guided—your Tour Leader will accompany the group on the trails. They'll provide insights, help set the pace, and ensure everyone is comfortable and safe throughout the experience. Most days tend to wind down in the evening hours, depending on the day's itinerary and drive times. Optional experiences like stargazing or a bike tour can often be arranged locally at your own cost.

Is there a different rate for Travel Advisors?

The pricing is always the same and there are no different rates for Travel agents. You will earn commission once your clients are back from their travels.

Is airport transportation included? Where do we meet in Las Vegas? Is hotel accommodation in Los Vegas included?

Airport transfers are not included in this trip package, so you'll need to make your own way to the hotel at the start of the tour. The joining point for the trip will be Tuscany Suites and Casino. Your hotel accommodation in Las Vegas for the first night is included as part of the tour.

One of the best group trips I have ever been on. Rene was absolutely fantastic! Zion national park, Bryce Canyon and the Grand Canyon are absolutely amazing places to visit. Photos can not do justice to the sheer magnificent beauty. Our group was amazing, friendly, fun, always on time and ages 30s-60s. The accommodations were sufficient and the hikes were manageable even for someone like myself who is not the most physically fit. I would suggest arriving a day or 2 early in Vegas or staying the night you return to get the most out of the experience. The Hoover dam is not included but there are short day trips from Vegas that cover this area which is definitely worthwhile. The days were long but there was sufficient rest at night to cope with some of the early morning wake up times. Which was WELL worth it!! Seeing the Grand Canyon at sunset was a sight I will never forget. If I can give 10 stars I would. This was my first intrepid trip and I have to say it won’t be the last. Even though we were unable to kayak lake Powell because time of year, we saw antelope canyon which was quite spectacular. Monument valley was also an experience to remember. If you have the opportunity to go, do it! You won’t regret one minute!Show more

At least half of the trip was spent in the van traveling, leaving only 1-4 hours each day in a park. Due to terrible time management by our guide we did not get a sunset at the Grand Canyon, as listed in the brochure, and I had to demand a sunrise there as guide didn’t want to drive us unless everyone was interested. I also insisted on going back to Horseshoe Bend the following morning as we arrived at the end of sunset so poor viewing in the dark. Guide was completely withdrawn, did not join group for any meals, gave no information on any parks, and did not give guided tour at Bryce Canyon because her knee hurt. Jill Palmer, guide, was nothing more than a driver. Food was disappointing as we ate the same lunch every day, sandwich and chips. The parks were all amazing, but the amount of time allotted was not represented in the brochure, and I would not recommend Intrepid group tours based on this experience. I hope the company will reconsider the logistics of this tour so others are not disappointed as I was. Several people in my group had done other Intrepid tours and said this tour was very disappointing. One member, Brett, works for Intrepid and was there to assess the hotels and driving. He encouraged me to give an honest review, so I hope Intrepid will read this and make the necessary changes. Meanwhile, I don’t think I would use Intrepid again.Show more

  He is a psychological support dog. Again he can stay in the hotel while I sitesee and hike so really I just need the hotel to be ok with the dog in the room while I am out.

  As you have indicated that you wish to leave your dog in hotels during the day (which is not possible for service animals), it appears your dog would be classified as an Emotional Support Animal (ESA) and would be treated as a pet under US National Park rules.
  
  Only dogs trained to perform a specific task for a person with a disability (ie. ADA-qualified) are permitted in US National Parks. So unfortunately, there are no trips that include US National Parks that are suitable for an ESA, and while we can investigate accommodations for trained service animals, our trips in general are not suitable for travel with dogs.
