Our tour of Kenya and Tanzania was fabulous. Our two guides, Brian and Elly, were fun, friendly, flexible and knowledgeable. We shared a lot of laughs and developed a strong bond in our short time together, and we saw every animal we'd hoped to see (plus some) thanks to them. Gracepatt's customer service was excellent. They responded to emails in a timely manner, changed the schedule around a bit so that we could fly into and out of Nairobi, booked a hotel for the night we arrived without even being asked, and upgraded our accommodations. Grace answered any and all questions before, during and after our safari. She was a pleasure to deal with and always replied quickly. Our guide, Samuel, was truly amazing!!   You will spend 6days Climbing Mount Kilimanjaro through Machame Route.
  
  In terms of fitness, you do not need to be an elite athlete, but you should be able to hike for several hours a day on consecutive days while carrying a light daypack. Good cardiovascular fitness, leg strength, and endurance will make the climb much more enjoyable.
  
  Regarding smoking: being a smoker does not automatically prevent you from climbing Kilimanjaro, and many smokers have successfully reached the summit.\u00a0
  
  We recommend discussing your health with your doctor beforehand and, if possible, reducing or stopping smoking in the weeks or months leading up to the trek. The most important factors for success on Kilimanjaro are usually a sensible pace, proper acclimatization, hydration, and overall preparation rather than pure fitness alone.
