Itinerary
- Day 1
Tangier
You'll arrive at Tangier airport or port and get picked up for a city tour that fits your schedule. The whitewashed medina is first on your list, then you'll check out the Dar el Makhzen museum and American Legation Museum. After that, head to the Hercules Caves before finishing the day at a viewpoint about 1000 feet up overlooking the Strait of Gibraltar. By evening you'll settle in at your accommodation.

- Day 2
Tangier to Chefchaouen
After breakfast, you'll drive toward Chefchaouen and spend the day wandering through the blue-washed buildings of the old town. The narrow streets have markets and traditional architecture worth exploring, including the Kasbah and Ethnographic Museum. You'll have plenty of time to walk around and soak in the local atmosphere before your overnight stay.

- Day 3
Chefchaouen to Fes
Leaving Chefchaouen early, you'll head to Fes and stop at several historical sites along the way. First comes Volubilis, a UNESCO World Heritage Site with ruins from the 3rd century BC. Then you'll visit Meknes to see the Bab Mansour gate with its detailed arches and tilework. By evening you'll reach Fes for the night.

- Day 4
Fes
A local guide will take you through Fes starting with the Royal Palace and South Tower, which gives nice views over the city. You'll stop at the Pottery Village to watch artisans at work, then see the Bou Inania Madrasa and El Quaraouiyine Mosque and University (the world's oldest continually operating higher education institution). Nejjarine Square comes after, and then you'll have free time to relax.

Fes to Merzouga Desert
An early morning departure gets you toward Merzouga desert. You'll drive through Ifran with its ski slopes and lion statue, then through cedar forests where Barbary macaques live. After passing through Midelt, Errachida, and the Ziz Valley, you'll reach Erfoud. By sunset you'll be on a camel heading into the desert camp, followed by dinner under the stars with traditional music.

- Day 6
Merzouga Desert to Boumalne Dades
Wake up early to catch the desert sunrise colors. After breakfast you'll head toward Boumalne Dades, passing through Errissani (the historical capital of Tafilalet). In Tinghir you'll explore the palm grove and walk through the Todgha Gorge with its limestone canyons in the High Atlas Mountains. You'll arrive in Boumalne Dades by late afternoon.

Boumalne Dades to Marrakech
You'll travel through the Valley of the Roses on the Thousand Kasbahs Road. The route includes a stop at the Amridil Kasbah from the 17th century, then Atlas Studio to learn about Moroccan filmmaking. Next is Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its earthen clay architecture. The drive to Marrakech takes you through Tishka Pass at 2260m elevation.

Marrakech to Essaouira
A local guide leads you through Marrakech, starting at Bahia Palace with its nice gardens built in the late 1800s. You'll see the Saadian Tombs (a royal necropolis from the Saadian dynasty), the Koutoubia mosque, and Jamaa El Fna marketplace square. After the tour wraps up, you'll transfer to Essaouira for the night.

Essaouira
Essaouira (also called Taros locally) gives you free time to explore at your own pace. The fortified medina has art galleries and boutiques worth checking out, and the port is worth a visit to watch the fishing boats and nets. If it's between April and November, windsurfing is available. You'll get to experience the city's cultural mix before heading back to Marrakech later.
