- Day 1
Cairo
You'll touch down at Cairo Airport and get transferred to your hotel. Spend some time getting settled and checking out what the hotel has to offer. Later in the day, you'll meet your Travel Director and other travelers for a welcome drink to kick things off.

- Day 2
Cairo to Luxor
Early morning flight takes you to Luxor. Once there, you'll walk through the Karnak Temple Complex, checking out the ram-headed sphinxes and the massive columns of the Hypostyle Hall. Then you'll board your cruise ship, which is your base for the next week. After lunch, head to the Luxor Museum to see ancient artifacts. Dinner happens on the ship, so you can relax for the evening.

- Day 3
Dendera to Edfu
Start the morning at the Temple of Hathor in Dendera, one of the best-preserved temples around. You'll see a rare depiction of Cleopatra and her son inside. Lunch is back on the ship, then you'll cruise through the Esna Lock heading toward Edfu.

Edfu to Aswan
The ship cruises to Kom Ombo and then continues to Aswan. You get to pick an Insight Choice experience, either a cooking demonstration with the ship's chef or tea with the Captain. Later, explore Aswan's sites like the Philae Temple Complex and Temple of Isis. Evening brings an Egyptian dinner and galabeya party on board.

- Day 5
Aswan
Visit Aswan's High Dam and granite quarries to check out the huge unfinished obelisk. A motorboat takes you to the Temple of Isis on Philae Island, where you'll hear stories about Isis and Hathor in a Roman-style theater. The rest of the day is yours to relax on the ship.

You'll board a traditional felucca and meet a local sailor who teaches you about the boat and its sailing methods. Visit a women's co-op to see how they turn scrap materials into handicrafts. As the sun goes down, head to the historic Old Cataract Hotel for high tea. End the night with the Sound and Light Show at Philae Island, watching the illuminated temple tell stories of Isis and Hathor.

Aswan to Kom Ombo
Free morning in Aswan, with an optional air trip to Abu Simbel if you want to go. Those temples overlook Lake Nasser and include the Great Temple of Ramesses II and the Temple of Hathor. Later, sail to Kom Ombo to see the only double temple in Egypt, dedicated to Sobek and Horus the Elder.

Kom Ombo to Luxor
Spend the day relaxing on your cruise ship as it moves along the Nile toward Luxor. You can use the ship's facilities and keep your camera ready for river views. In the evening, visit Luxor Temple where the ship will dock for the night.

Luxor to Cairo
Leave the ship and take a coach to the west bank of the Nile. Explore the Temple of Hatshepsut and the Valley of the Kings where pharaohs like Hatshepsut, Amenhotep I, and Tutankhamun were buried. Visit Geziret Bahirat village to spend time with a local family over bread and conversation. Then head to the airport for your flight back to Cairo.

Travel to Memphis, the legendary ancient capital and center of Egypt's Old Kingdom. See the colossal statue of Ramses II and the Great Alabaster Sphinx. Continue to Saqqara to view the Step Pyramid of King Zoser, the world's oldest pyramid at over 4,500 years old. Head to Giza to see the Sphinx and explore the Pyramids of Giza. Finish with canapes and a drink with your Travel Director and fellow travelers to celebrate.
