Itinerary
- Day 1
Kathmandu/Manthali to Lukla to Phakding
Your trek kicks off with a scenic flight from Kathmandu or Manthali down to Lukla, where you'll connect with your trekking crew. From there, the path heads gently toward Phakding, following the Dudh Koshi River as it winds through small villages and thick forests. You'll settle into a cozy guest house in Phakding for your first night, and your body starts adjusting to the altitude.

- Day 2
Phakding to Namche Bazaar
Walking through pine forests, you'll cross suspension bridges decorated with prayer flags, tackling both uphill and downhill sections with Thamserku peak in view. The trail takes you through Monjo where park permits get checked at the Sagarmatha National Park entrance. Once you reach where the Dudh Koshi and Bhote Koshi rivers meet, things get steep as you climb up to Namche Bazaar, the busy trading hub of the Khumbu with its shops, markets, and cafes.

- Day 3
Namche Bazaar to Tengboche
After breakfast, you're on a pretty flat stretch with incredible views of Everest, Lhotse, and Ama Dablam laid out ahead. Then the path drops down to Phunki Tenga, and from there comes a challenging uphill push through rhododendron forests to reach Tengboche, where the region's largest monastery sits. By evening, you can sit in on the prayers while surrounded by the Himalayan peaks all around you.

- Day 4
Tengboche to Dingboche
You'll trek downward through birch and rhododendron forests, passing the small settlement of Deboche before crossing the Imja Khola River. After that, a steady climb takes you to Pangboche, home to the oldest monastery in the area, then the trail opens into alpine meadows and yak pastures heading toward Dingboche. This village gives you nice views of Ama Dablam, Lhotse, and the Imja Valley spread out below.

- Day 5
Dingboche to Lobuche
The day starts with a gradual climb to Dughla, passing through a scenic valley with mountain views on both sides. As you go higher, the trail gets steeper and you're climbing the terminal moraine of the Khumbu Glacier. On the ridge at the top, you'll find memorials for climbers who've died on Everest. Continuing on brings you to Lobuche, a small spot with great views of Nuptse and the peaks around it.

Lobuche to Everest Base Camp to Gorak Shep
This is one of the trek's real highlights heading toward Everest Base Camp across the Khumbu Glacier through rough terrain and rock fields. You'll reach Gorak Shep for a quick rest, then push on to Everest Base Camp where the views of the Khumbu Icefall and surrounding mountains feel almost unreal. After spending time there taking it all in, you head back down to Gorak Shep to sleep.

- Day 7
Gorak Shep to Kala Patthar to Pheriche
Start early and hike up to Kala Patthar, the trek's highest point, catching the sunrise over Mount Everest and the surrounding peaks. You'll drop back down to Gorak Shep for breakfast, then trek down to Pheriche, going back through the Khumbu valley the way you came. Pheriche has a Himalayan Rescue Association clinic where you can find out more about how altitude affects your body.

- Day 8
Pheriche to Namche Bazaar
The walk back to Namche Bazaar is mostly downhill through beautiful terrain and traditional Sherpa villages. You'll hop across several suspension bridges and see the Imja Khola river down below. This descent gives you time to think back on the trek and just be in the peaceful mountain setting. Once you hit Namche Bazaar, you can rest up and poke around the town, checking out shops and grabbing coffee at cafes.

- Day 9
Namche Bazaar to Lukla
Trekking back to Lukla means heading down through forests and crossing the Dudh Koshi river several times along the way. The path has ups and downs as you pass through places you've seen before like Monjo and Phakding. When you get to Lukla, you and your team can celebrate wrapping up the trek and look back on how far you've come.

Lukla to Kathmandu/Manthali
In the morning, you'll catch a flight from Lukla back to Kathmandu or Manthali, bringing your Everest Base Camp trek to a close. The flight offers one final look at the Himalayas from above before you leave them behind. After landing, you'll get a transfer to your hotel where you can rest and soak in everything you've just experienced on this journey.
