You'll arrive in Lima and start by exploring the colonial city's spiritual side. The day takes you through ornate churches and underground catacombs, then you head to the bohemian Barranco district to cross the Bridge of Sighs. By evening, you'll try ceviche and have a pisco sour while watching the sunset over the Pacific.

- Day 2
Lima to Arequipa
Your included flight takes you to Arequipa, Peru's second largest city sitting beneath three volcanoes and known as the 'White City'. Once there, you'll do a city tour hitting the UNESCO World Heritage Plaza de Armas and other key sites. Lunch and dinner feature local specialties like Rocoto Relleno and Chupe de Camarones.

Arequipa to Colca Canyon
This morning you'll leave Arequipa and head toward Colca Canyon, one of the world's deepest. The route takes you through Salinas and Aguada Blanca national reserve, where you'll stop for hot coca tea while passing windswept landscapes and sandstone cliffs. As you climb higher, the elevation keeps increasing until you reach the highest point at 4,910 metres (16,108 feet), which is about the same height as Mont Blanc. From that vantage point, you get your first real look at Colca Canyon spreading out below.

Colca Canyon
This morning you search for the Andean Condor from the highest viewpoint, looking for its impressive 3 metre wingspan. Even if the condor doesn't show, the canyon views themselves are worth the effort. After heading back through quaint villages, you'll have lunch in Chivay then travel to Puno on Lake Titicaca's shores at 3,657 metres/12,000 feet. Take it easy with drinks and dancing tonight due to the altitude.

Later you explore the sacred Raqchi ruins with their Temple of Wiracocha before finishing the day in Cusco, the hub of ancient Incan culture.
