    This program includes 3 long trekkings from medium to high difficulty, that will be OK for you? Please note that if you are not able to complete the trek on that day, yes is possible you turn around at any point if you feel you cannot safely continue BUT without guide because you will be in a small group (6-12 people) and the guide must continue the trek with the other guests. We always emphasize not overestimating your abilities, staying on the marked trail, and prioritizing safety.

    We recommend you bookIng a flight around midday (12:00pm) because the first bus departs from el Chaltén at 8:00am, arriving to El Calafate airport around 10:20-10:30am. Please also consider that generally for domestic flights, the air companies require presentation at the counter 1,5 hours prior departure.

    Exactly. This is not a group tour, this experience is done in small group shared tours, which means that you will get to know different people every day, you will not be with the same persons every day. There is no tour leader, and you will get different local guides for every excursion.

    Yes, a local driver guide will be waiting for you at Punta Arenas Airport and will transfer you up to the bus station. Services are organized according your arrival flight info. Bus available at 10:00am - 12:30pm - 2:30pm - 5:00pm - 6:30pm. Trip takes 3 houtrs approx (245 km). We will book & issue the bus tickets and will send you together with the voucher itinerary.

    The additional cost for the mini-trekking is U$D 216 The level of difficulty of this walk is moderate. The surface of the ice is irregular, but firm and safe. During the trekking, you will be able to see a variety of typical glacier features, such as deep cracks, blue moulins, huge seracs and turquoise ponds. At the end of the ice trekking, you will walk on the area around the glacier and the side moraine, from where you will be able to enjoy a panoramic view of Glaciar Perito Moreno, the mountains and the lake. Very important: Due to the effort and difficulty levels (MODERATE, with steep and uneven ascents and descents) of this activity, and in order to preserve their health, the following persons cannot take the tour: - Obese persons. People with obesity may not participate. In the case of adults, the World Health Organization (WHO) defines obesity as when a person has a Body Mass Index (BMI) equal to or greater than 30. The BMI is calculated by dividing the weight of a person in kilos times the square of their height in meters: (kg/m2). - Pregnant - People with any degree of physical or mental disability that affects their attention, ability to walk and/or coordination. - Suitable for people between 8 and 65 years ONLY. No exceptions. - People with a cardiac history. Persons who suffer from central or peripheral heart or vascular disease, whose heart or capabilities are limited, or people with stents, bypass, pacemakers or other prosthesis. Example: anticoagulant medication, stage 3 varicose veins (multiple thick varicose veins that can noticed). - People who suffer from diseases caused by respiratory disabilities such as COPD, asthma, emphysema, among others.

    Free time on Day 1 in Natales depending on your arrival flight (you can also book a flight directly to Puerto Natales instead Punta Arenas) On Day 4 you will have the afternoon at leisure. The bus departus from Puerto Natales at 8:00am arriving in El Calafate at 2:00pm approx On Day 6 you will have the afternoon at leisure. The bus departus from El Calafate 9:00am arriving in El Chalten at 12:00pm approx On Day 9 you could have the morning free in El Chalten (if you will extend your stay in El Calafate for 1 night).

    Definitely yes, you can travel with a suitcase. During hiking you do not carry your anything more than a small backpack for the walking during the day; full luggage remain at corresponding hotels.

  Can it work for us to fly to Puerto Natales and join the tour there instead of flying to Puntas Arenas on the first day? We can be responsible for getting a taxi to the hotel. At the end of the tour on April 2 in El Chalten, we would want to be booked on 8 am bus to El Calafate, is that possible?

    1) Definitely yes. You can fly to Puerto Natales instead of flying to Puntas Arenas on the first day. We will organise the arrival transfer in Puerto Natales. 2) On April 2nd, we have two options for you: 8:00am Bus Line departing from El Chalten bus station or 9:00am in small group / pick up directly at your hotel and drop off at the airport. Very important: this is not a group tour which dates are set and having a guide throughout the duration of the trip as well as a group of travel companions. Our program includes flexibility with dates (you are able to choose your own dates), the itinerary is set, all services are in shared services with local English speaking guides. And you could have different travel companions each day.

    Do I understand correctly that we would be met at the Puerto Natales airport by a driver who then will transfer us to our hotel? Regarding departure choices to El Calafate on Apr 2 (8am bus or 9 am small group transport) -- the Plataforma10 website says that the bus trip is 2 hrs 48 min. Is the trip time for the small transport similar in time length to that of the bus? At this point, we are still undecided on taking the bus or group van. Do we need to let you know our choice before booking? I'm assuming it'll be ok to book beforehand and then let you know our choice as soon as we decide. One last question - we are interested in spending the night of Apr 2 on our own in El Calafate. If you could let me know soon after we book this tour the name of the hotel we'll be staying in El Calafate during the tour so we can use the same hotel when we get back to El Calafate.

    1.- Definitely yes. A local driver will be waiting for you at Natales's Airport arrival hall with a sign with your name on it and will transfer you up to the hotel booked. 2.- The duration of the trip El Chalten - Calafate is 3 hours (less or more). The same duration by small group or by bus (on the last option, we/you must consider transfer to El Chalten bus station + Calafate bus station/hotel). 3.- Normally, the hotel we use is Mirador del Lago. We will inform you at the time of booking.

    Will await notification of which hotel we'll be staying at in El Calafate so we can contact about staying there the night of April 2. Regarding the bed arrangements for the hotels, just want to confirm that there will be 2 twin beds in the room at each hotel.
