If you would be coming from Ushuaia you will start the program in Punta Arenas. We will organize all services from this city.

Can I travel with a suitcase ( not a backpack)? / do I carry my full luggage while hiking?

Definitely yes, you can travel with a suitcase. During hiking you do not carry your anything more than a small backpack for the walking during the day; full luggage remain at corresponding hotels.

Can it work for us to fly to Puerto Natales and join the tour there instead of flying to Puntas Arenas on the first day? We can be responsible for getting a taxi to the hotel. At the end of the tour on April 2 in El Chalten, we would want to be booked on 8 am bus to El Calafate, is that possible?

1) Definitely yes. You can fly to Puerto Natales instead of flying to Puntas Arenas on the first day. We will organise the arrival transfer in Puerto Natales. 2) On April 2nd, we have two options for you: 8:00am Bus Line departing from El Chalten bus station or 9:00am in small group / pick up directly at your hotel and drop off at the airport. Very important: this is not a group tour which dates are set and having a guide throughout the duration of the trip as well as a group of travel companions. Our program includes flexibility with dates (you are able to choose your own dates), the itinerary is set, all services are in shared services with local English speaking guides. And you could have different travel companions each day.

Overall, I thought this was a pretty great trip package! The BIG highlights are of course Mount Fitz Roy and Laguna Torre (El Chalten), Glacier Perito Moreno (El Calafate), and Base Las Torres (Torres Del Paine, Chile). I personally thought the initial hike of the trip though (on the 2nd day) called Laguna Amarga was a little basic, short, and not overly fascinating or challenging and maybe could've been replaced with something else? But that said, we still saw some guanacos (llama-like animals) on the path and the bulk of the Los Torres park mountains in the distance during that hike. So I guess it was okay. In terms of the accommodations, I was very very pleased with the selection, especially the first and last hotels (in Puerto Natalas, Chile, and El Chalten, Argentina). They were all pretty bouge-y / snazzy looking places with nice amenities. I wish the hotel in El Chalten had better / faster wifi though. As a side note, I bought a cell data plan for Argentina and only had Edge (slower than 3G) in El Chalten and there were also no cell service on the bus rides / roads between cities. So better and faster wifi especially in this last location would've been nice. In terms of the flow, organization, and execution of the itinerary and this travel company, A+, I must say! Drivers there to pick you up from airport / bus and transfer to hotel, waiting for you with a name card in hand. Good communication from the tour companies if there was a change in itinerary for the following day. Hotels were well picked with breakfasts included. Final thoughts? Look, if you wanted to do all the above highlights for hiking in a more budget-friendly way, sure you can find a way to do it. You can buckle down, search the places, organize the accomodations, stay at cheaper hostels, pay for taxis as you go, organize the bus transfers, not have guides on the hikes and do them all solo, etc. Therefore, you might pay a hair bit more in taking this package than you would if you figured out and just did everything yourself, but you do feel like you're living in the heart of luxury once your done the hikes. And the views and open-air, scenic experiences of those hikes are pretty great, too! 4.5 out of 5 starsShow more

  The additional cost for the mini-trekking is U$D 216 The level of difficulty of this walk is moderate. The surface of the ice is irregular, but firm and safe. During the trekking, you will be able to see a variety of typical glacier features, such as deep cracks, blue moulins, huge seracs and turquoise ponds. At the end of the ice trekking, you will walk on the area around the glacier and the side moraine, from where you will be able to enjoy a panoramic view of Glaciar Perito Moreno, the mountains and the lake. Very important: Due to the effort and difficulty levels (MODERATE, with steep and uneven ascents and descents) of this activity, and in order to preserve their health, the following persons cannot take the tour: - Obese persons. People with obesity may not participate. In the case of adults, the World Health Organization (WHO) defines obesity as when a person has a Body Mass Index (BMI) equal to or greater than 30. The BMI is calculated by dividing the weight of a person in kilos times the square of their height in meters: (kg/m2). - Pregnant - People with any degree of physical or mental disability that affects their attention, ability to walk and/or coordination. - Suitable for people between 8 and 65 years ONLY. No exceptions. - People with a cardiac history. Persons who suffer from central or peripheral heart or vascular disease, whose heart or capabilities are limited, or people with stents, bypass, pacemakers or other prosthesis. Example: anticoagulant medication, stage 3 varicose veins (multiple thick varicose veins that can noticed). - People who suffer from diseases caused by respiratory disabilities such as COPD, asthma, emphysema, among others.

  Do I understand correctly that we would be met at the Puerto Natales airport by a driver who then will transfer us to our hotel? Regarding departure choices to El Calafate on Apr 2 (8am bus or 9 am small group transport) -- the Plataforma10 website says that the bus trip is 2 hrs 48 min. Is the trip time for the small transport similar in time length to that of the bus? At this point, we are still undecided on taking the bus or group van. Do we need to let you know our choice before booking? I'm assuming it'll be ok to book beforehand and then let you know our choice as soon as we decide. One last question - we are interested in spending the night of Apr 2 on our own in El Calafate. If you could let me know soon after we book this tour the name of the hotel we'll be staying in El Calafate during the tour so we can use the same hotel when we get back to El Calafate.

Payment information
- For any tour departing before July 5th, 2026 a full payment is necessary. For tours departing after July 5th, 2026, a minimum payment of 10% is required to confirm your booking with Signature DMC. The final payment will be automatically charged to your credit card on the designated due date. The final payment of the remaining balance is required at least 60 days prior to the departure date of your tour. TourRadar never charges you a booking fee and will charge you in the stated currency.
- Some departure dates and prices may vary and Signature DMC will contact you with any discrepancies before your booking is confirmed.
- The following cards are accepted for "Signature DMC" tours: Visa, Maestro, Mastercard, American Express or PayPal. TourRadar does NOT charge you an extra fee for using any of these payment methods.

- Your money is safe with TourRadar, as we only pay the tour operator after your tour has departed.
