We are interested in 14 days Romantic Tamil Nadu tour. I have the following question about day 12 which is Rameswaram. It says sightseeing and return to Madurai for overnight. In the accommodation section the hotel Hyatt Place is listed. So is it just a day trip to Rameswaram for overnight there? In View Destinations Madurai is mentioned four times. All a bit confusing and I would like clarification please.

on day 12, you will have a hotel in Madurai and from Madurai you visit Rameswaram and return to Madurai. Yes, you are right, We have mentioned a hotel in Rameswaram but it is a small place so we have taken an option to return back to Madurai.

We visited the popular tourist attractions such as the Kapaleeshwarar Temple, San Thome Cathedral and Marina Beach. We also enjoyed the local cuisine and culture. The next destination was Kanniyakumari. We visited the famous Vivekananda Rock Memorial and Thiruvalluvar Statue. We also got to enjoy the sunset over the Indian Ocean. We then proceeded to Mahabalipuram, where we visited the Shore Temple and Arjuna's Penance. We also visited the Mahabalipuram Dance Festival. We also visited Pondicherry, Madurai and Trichy.   As you will have noted we have already booked the tour. There were two reasons why we booked, the first is Rameswaram and the second was the train trip from Madurai to Chennai as stated in day 13 of the tour. The thought of sitting in a car all day (more than 8 hours) in Indian traffic is unthinkable. We have been to India before so know what's like. I have looked at day time train possibilities from Madurai and there are some which offer this service.

  The train will be a perfect way for a day of sightseeing. I have done a little research for the train from Madurai to Chennai, I hope it is helpful. Vaigai Express, train nr. 12636 leaves Madurai at 07:10 with CC class.

  Just some questions please: Is the hotel in Chennai on day 13 the same as the first two nights? I made a mistake when reading the itinerary for the tour. Day 14 is the departure day which is Wednesday 30 August, 2023. In fact our onward flight is on Thursday 31 August at 10:30. Therefore I would like to request our airport transfer be transferred to this date please. In view of this I am hoping you can arrange another night at the hotel for us in Chennai and also arrange a city tour for Wednesday 30 August. I am asking this because when I was reading the details for the Chennai sightseeing, so many of the attractions are closed on Fridays which is the start day for us.

Vaccines
- These are only indications, so please visit your doctor before you travel to be 100% sure.
- Typhoid - Recommended for India. Ideally 2 weeks before travel.
- Hepatitis A - Recommended for India. Ideally 2 weeks before travel.
- Cholera - Recommended for India. Ideally 2 weeks before travel.
- Tuberculosis - Recommended for India. Ideally 3 months before travel.
- Hepatitis B - Recommended for India. Ideally 2 months before travel.
- Yellow fever - Certificate of vaccination required if arriving from an area with a risk of yellow fever transmission for India. Ideally 10 days before travel.
- Japanese B encephalitis - Recommended for India. Ideally 1 month before travel.
Visa
- Unfortunately we cannot offer you a visa application service. Whether you need a visa or not depends on your nationality and where you wish to travel. Assuming your home country does not have a visa agreement with the country you're planning to visit, you will need to apply for a visa in advance of your scheduled departure.
- Here is an indication for which countries you might need a visa. Please contact the local embassy for help applying for visas to these places.
Payment information
- For any tour departing before May 15th, 2026 a full payment is necessary. For tours departing after May 15th, 2026, a minimum payment of 10% is required to confirm your booking with Travel Con. The final payment will be automatically charged to your credit card on the designated due date. The final payment of the remaining balance is required at least 60 days prior to the departure date of your tour. TourRadar never charges you a booking fee and will charge you in the stated currency.
- Some departure dates and prices may vary and Travel Con will contact you with any discrepancies before your booking is confirmed.
- The following cards are accepted for "Travel Con" tours: Visa, Maestro, Mastercard, American Express or PayPal. TourRadar does NOT charge you an extra fee for using any of these payment methods.
Cancellation Policy
- Your money is safe with TourRadar, as we only pay the tour operator after your tour has departed.
- TourRadar is an authorized Agent of Travel Con. Please familiarize yourself with the Travel Con payment, cancellation and refund conditions.
