Itinerary

  1. Day 1

    Cusco

    You'll arrive at Cusco Airport and meet your guide for a 30-40 minute transfer to your hotel in the city center. Spend the rest of the day settling in and resting. Drink some coca tea to help with the altitude adjustment while you get comfortable in your room.

  2. Day 2

    Chinchero - Moray - Maras - Ollantaytambo - Aguas Calientes

    After your hotel pickup between 8:00-8:30 AM, you'll head out to explore the Andean sites around Cusco. First stop is Chinchero where you'll see Inca walls and a colonial church, plus watch a live textile weaving demonstration. From there you continue to Moray to walk around its circular agricultural terraces, then on to Maras to check out the striking salt pools. Later in the afternoon, you'll travel by scenic train to Aguas Calientes for the night.

  3. Day 3

    Machu Picchu - Cusco

    You'll have an early breakfast before boarding the morning bus to Machu Picchu. Your guide will take you through an in-depth tour of the Inca citadel, explaining the temples, ceremonial areas, terraces, and storage structures. If you want extra views, optional tickets are available for Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu Mountain. After lunch back in Aguas Calientes, you'll take the train to Ollantaytambo and then a private van back to Cusco.

  4. Day 4

    Mollepata - Soraypampa - Humantay Lake

    Your hotel pickup happens between 4:00-5:00 AM and you'll travel to Mollepata for a hearty breakfast. Then you head to the Soraypampa trailhead for a moderate 2-hour uphill trek with views of snow-capped peaks. You'll reach Humantay Lake with its turquoise waters and the Salkantay glacier as a backdrop. Spend 30-40 minutes taking in the views and photos before descending. Lunch is back in Mollepata, then you return to Cusco.

  5. Day 5

    Cusipata - Pulawasipata - Rainbow Mountain

    You'll be picked up between 4:00-4:30 AM and travel through countryside with rivers, villages, and valleys to Cusipata for breakfast. After that, you head to the Pulawasipata trailhead for a 2-hour trek to Rainbow Mountain. The route gives you views of glaciers, canyons, llamas, and alpacas along the way. At the summit you can see the vibrant colors and Ausangate Mountain nearby. A buffet lunch waits for you back in Cusipata before you're driven back to Cusco in the afternoon.
