This trip already includes entrance to the Machu Picchu Citadel and a guided tour inside the archaeological site. CIRCUITO 1-B , 2-A, 2-B or 3-B, assigned according availibility. The optional extras you see are the additional mountain hikes, which are completely separate from the regular visit to the Citadel. Huayna Picchu Mountain: This is the famous steep mountain located next to Machu Picchu. The hike is shorter but quite steep, with many stone steps and some narrow sections. It offers impressive views of the Citadel and the surrounding mountains. Machu Picchu Mountain: This is a higher and wider mountain located on the opposite side of the Citadel. The hike is longer and more gradual than Huayna Picchu, offering panoramic views of Machu Picchu, the surrounding valleys, and the Andes. Please note that you do not need to purchase either mountain to visit Machu Picchu. Your regular trip already includes the entrance to the Citadel and the guided tour. If you decide to add one of the mountains, please keep in mind that the guide will not accompany you during the mountain hike. The hike is done independently by the passengers. However, there is no need to worry about getting lost, as the trails are well marked and clearly signposted, making them easy to follow.

I am interested in this trip and am looking into booking the domestic flights. Do you recommend any airlines? I see that Sky airlines flys to Cusco from Lima Oct 18th 6:35am and to Puerto Maldonado from Cusco Oct 22nd 8:40am and from Puerto Maldonado to Lima Oct 25th 10:25am. I am looking at the October 16th - 25th tour dates. I would be a solo traveller and wondered if these were good times for flights and would fit in with the tour.

Yes, we do have availability for these dates, and the flight times you mentioned generally fit well with the tour itinerary. Just to remind you that if you take the flight departing from Lima to Cusco 06:35am, you will transfered to the aiport very early. If you don't have issues with this so you can take that Flight. You may choose SKY Airline or another airline that offers suitable schedules; the most important thing is to select flight times that work with the tour itinerary. We recommend booking your flights and tour as soon as possible because Machu Picchu entrance tickets are selling out quickly, and availability can become limited.

I was hoping to stay say one night in Huacachina if that is adviseable. I dont care to start so early from Lima to go to Paracas, and dont want a very long day. Dont even care about taking a boat to see the fauna in Paracas since I hope to go to the Galapagos. I wouldnt mind seeing Paracas with a leisurely time leaving say at like 8am from Lima; perhaps a nice over in Ica if advisable with things to see and do in both Paracas and Ica and the go to Huacacachina for one night and to see and do things there, before continuing with the normal schedule. Thoughts? When one leaves Puerto Maldonado, where does the flight go?

In that case, I would recommend visiting only Paracas and removing Ica from the itinerary. The Paracas–Ica excursion normally starts early, and even if you stayed overnight in Ica, the return journey to Lima would be quite long due to the distance between Ica and Lima. Considering your preference for a more relaxed schedule and avoiding very long travel days, I think it would be better to keep the itinerary simpler and more comfortable. Therefore, taking this into account, I will remove Ica from the itinerary. This will give you more time to enjoy Paracas at a leisurely pace without making the day unnecessarily long. Regarding your question about Puerto Maldonado, The flights must to return to Lima.

Machu Picchu entrance tickets for the June 6th departure are unfortunately sold out due to high demand during this season. We would recommend starting the trip towards the end of June when we still have availability, or considering travel dates for next year. Regarding domestic flights, yes we can absolutely assist with arranging the internal flights in Peru if you decide to proceed with the booking.

I see that there is a 40% fee for cancellation inside 60 days. Is a 100% refund given if we needed to cancel with 61 days or more before the tour start?

Yes, our cancellation policies begin to apply within 60 days prior to the tour departure date. This is because, at that point, we start making all the necessary arrangements and reservations for your trip, including purchasing entrance tickets and transportation. Some services, especially the Machu Picchu entrance tickets, are issued under each traveler's name and are non-transferable and non-refundable according to government regulations. For this reason, cancellations made within 60 days of the tour are subject to the cancellation fee mentioned in our policy. However, if you need to cancel 61 days or more before the tour start date, we will gladly provide a full refund of your deposit with respect to the tour price.

Can tourists actually walk to Machu Pichu? I see pictures of people standing on a hill looking down on it; I want to walk to it and see it closely. Is the two-hour walk to Rainbow Mountain strenuous? Will it be snow covered in August?

You are most likely referring to Huayna Picchu , the mountain you often see in photos where visitors stand above Machu Picchu and enjoy a panoramic view. Your tour includes access to the Machu Picchu citadel, where the terrain is mostly flat with some stairs, allowing you to walk through the site and see it up close. If you would like to enhance your experience, you can add Huaynapicchu or Machupicchu Mountain. This mountain offers spectacular panoramic views. Regarding Rainbow Mountain, the hike is about 2 hours and can be considered moderately strenuous due to the altitude. In August, it is usually dry season, so snow is not common, but temperatures can be cold, especially in the early morning.

Overall the tour was excellent. No one can control traffic and Lima after the first city tour took 2 hours to get home and the dunbuggy and sand boarding trip took 6 hours to get home. Mcchu Pechu with Roland was out of the world as the sun was out and Roland was so knowledgeable and friendly. The group chose not to go to Rainbow mountain and you have heard the negative review ( l was sick with altitude sickness and didn’t go). The care that l received at the macsalud clinic (5-10 minutes from hotel) was exceptional and would suggest that you give clinic name/ number for future tours if needed. The eco lodge was clean and provided excellent amenities. Would suggest to mention to future guests any food preferences/ dislikes so lodge can accommodate. Beef was tough and members of our group didn’t eat the pork. Food was excellently presented and more than adequate amounts.Show more

I had such an amazing time during my trip to Peru! One of my favorite activities was the boat ride it was so much fun and the scenery was incredible. I also loved the buggies, it was super exciting! The guides were always friendly and helpful, which made everything even better. And the wines… wow! I loved them so much that I even bought a bottle to take home. In Cusco, I enjoyed every moment, the llamas were adorable, and my guide in Machu Picchu recommended great places to eat. The food was absolutely delicious! I finished my trip in the jungle, staying in the most charming lodge. Even though I'm usually someone who likes to stay online, this journey was a much needed break a chance to reconnect with nature and make new friends. Truly an unforgettable experience!Show more

This is my review of my trip to Peru, where I had the chance to visit both Machu Picchu and the jungle. I traveled with my family and we had such a great time. Everything was fun and memorable, and we really enjoyed sharing this experience together. The food was completely new to me, but it was so delicious. I loved trying flavors I had never tasted before. The jungle was incredible,there were so many beautiful animals, and seeing them in their natural habitat was unforgettable. I also want to thank our guide, Martine, who assisted me at all times and took amazing photos for us in Machu Picchu. He truly made the experience even better. Overall we had a great experience specially the guides during the whole trip they were all professional and helpful, transport was great almost on time for all the trip. Our concern was the hotels, specially the Cusco part, the first hotel wasn’t good far from the city centre where all the main attractions no noise isolation but they were attentive and change it( we wished that they did pick it from the beginning to avoid the hassle) the hotel in Agua Caliente was a disaster small humid smelly room we couldn’t sleep. Big thank you to Luz she was in constant contact with us on WhatsApp and attentive to all our concerns and taking prompt action every time. Thank you all for the unforgettable experience.Show more

  This trip already includes entrance to the Machu Picchu Citadel and a guided tour inside the archaeological site. CIRCUITO 1-B , 2-A, 2-B or 3-B, assigned according availibility. The optional extras you see are the additional mountain hikes, which are completely separate from the regular visit to the Citadel. Huayna Picchu Mountain: This is the famous steep mountain located next to Machu Picchu. The hike is shorter but quite steep, with many stone steps and some narrow sections. It offers impressive views of the Citadel and the surrounding mountains. Machu Picchu Mountain: This is a higher and wider mountain located on the opposite side of the Citadel. The hike is longer and more gradual than Huayna Picchu, offering panoramic views of Machu Picchu, the surrounding valleys, and the Andes. Please note that you do not need to purchase either mountain to visit Machu Picchu. Your regular trip already includes the entrance to the Citadel and the guided tour. If you decide to add one of the mountains, please keep in mind that the guide will not accompany you during the mountain hike. The hike is done independently by the passengers. However, there is no need to worry about getting lost, as the trails are well marked and clearly signposted, making them easy to follow.

  For clear mountain views, I generally recommend traveling between April and October, as this period usually offers better visibility and less rainfall. If you are flexible with your dates, I would especially recommend June. It is a wonderful time to visit Cusco, not only because of the favorable weather conditions for enjoying the mountain landscapes, but also because June is one of the most important months for experiencing Cusco's culture and traditions. There are many traditional celebrations, cultural activities, and dances taking place throughout the city during this month.

I am interested in this trip and am looking into booking the domestic flights. Do you recommend any airlines? I see that Sky airlines flys to Cusco from Lima Oct 18th 6:35am and to Puerto Maldonado from Cusco Oct 22nd 8:40am and from Puerto Maldonado to Lima Oct 25th 10:25am. I am looking at the October 16th - 25th tour dates. I would be a solo traveller and wondered if these were good times for flights and would fit in with the tour.

Just to remind you that if you take the flight departing from Lima to Cusco 06:35am, you will transfered to the aiport very early. If you don't have issues with this so you can take that Flight. You may choose SKY Airline or another airline that offers suitable schedules; the most important thing is to select flight times that work with the tour itinerary. We recommend booking your flights and tour as soon as possible because Machu Picchu entrance tickets are selling out quickly, and availability can become limited.

I was hoping to stay say one night in Huacachina if that is adviseable. I dont care to start so early from Lima to go to Paracas, and dont want a very long day. Dont even care about taking a boat to see the fauna in Paracas since I hope to go to the Galapagos. I wouldnt mind seeing Paracas with a leisurely time leaving say at like 8am from Lima; perhaps a nice over in Ica if advisable with things to see and do in both Paracas and Ica and the go to Huacacachina for one night and to see and do things there, before continuing with the normal schedule. Thoughts? When one leaves Puerto Maldonado, where does the flight go?

  In that case, I would recommend visiting only Paracas and removing Ica from the itinerary. The Paracas–Ica excursion normally starts early, and even if you stayed overnight in Ica, the return journey to Lima would be quite long due to the distance between Ica and Lima. Considering your preference for a more relaxed schedule and avoiding very long travel days, I think it would be better to keep the itinerary simpler and more comfortable. Therefore, taking this into account, I will remove Ica from the itinerary. This will give you more time to enjoy Paracas at a leisurely pace without making the day unnecessarily long. Regarding your question about Puerto Maldonado, The flights must to return to Lima.

  There was no mention of one night in Huacachina, which I thought would be nice - to be able to maybe use a dune buggy, check out the dunes, check out the town, watch the sunset, have dinner and perhaps leave after breakfast. I havent seen any tours staying there but there are apparently restaurants and places to stay.

However, one possible option could be adding 3 extra days to your itinerary for traveling to Aguas Calientes (the town near Machu Picchu). This is the place where tickets are sold directly in person. While we unfortunately cannot guarantee availability through this option, many travelers choose this alternative when online tickets are sold out.

I see that there is a 40% fee for cancellation inside 60 days. Is a 100% refund given if we needed to cancel with 61 days or more before the tour start?

This is because, at that point, we start making all the necessary arrangements and reservations for your trip, including purchasing entrance tickets and transportation. Some services, especially the Machu Picchu entrance tickets, are issued under each traveler's name and are non-transferable and non-refundable according to government regulations.
  
  For this reason, cancellations made within 60 days of the tour are subject to the cancellation fee mentioned in our policy. However, if you need to cancel 61 days or more before the tour start date, we will gladly provide a full refund of your deposit with respect to the tour price.

Can tourists actually walk to Machu Pichu? I see pictures of people standing on a hill looking down on it; I want to walk to it and see it closely. Is the two-hour walk to Rainbow Mountain strenuous? Will it be snow covered in August?

  Your tour includes access to the Machu Picchu citadel, where the terrain is mostly flat with some stairs, allowing you to walk through the site and see it up close.
  If you would like to enhance your experience, you can add Huaynapicchu or Machupicchu Mountain. This mountain offers spectacular panoramic views.
  
  Regarding Rainbow Mountain, the hike is about 2 hours and can be considered moderately strenuous due to the altitude. In August, it is usually dry season, so snow is not common, but temperatures can be cold, especially in the early morning.
