Your tour includes access to the Machu Picchu citadel, where the terrain is mostly flat with some stairs, allowing you to walk through the site and see it up close. If you would like to enhance your experience, you can add Huaynapicchu or Machupicchu Mountain. This mountain offers spectacular panoramic views. Regarding Rainbow Mountain, the hike is about 2 hours and can be considered moderately strenuous due to the altitude. In August, it is usually dry season, so snow is not common, but temperatures can be cold, especially in the early morning.

However, please note that March is a high-demand season, and availability for Machu Picchu tickets, train services, and hotels is limited. For this reason, we kindly recommend completing your reservation as soon as possible so we can guarantee your spaces immediately. Cancellation Policy and Penalties: 60–30 days before departure: 40% of the total tour price 29–7 days before departure: 60% of the total tour price Less than 7 days before departure or no-show: 100% of the total tour price Tickets to Machu Picchu Citadel, as well as additional accesses to Huayna Picchu, Machu Picchu Mountain, and the Inca Trail, are regulated by the Ministry of Culture of Peru. These tickets are issued in the passenger's name, non-transferable, non-modifiable (name, date, or time), and non-refundable under any circumstances. I want to make sure I can go to the Machu Picchu Mountain. Because the tour gave me option of either Huayna Picchu mountain or Machu Picchu Mountain.

However, if you would prefer to join a group on specific dates, I would be more than glad to share with you the dates where other travelers are already confirmed, so you can choose the option that best suits you.

I am 66 years old and am in good health - I swim, hike bike in a regular basis. Can you describe the physical activities? I want to feel comfortable in accomplishing the expectations especially in relation to Machu Pichu.

Regarding walking and physical activity on this tour, the only true hiking activity included in the itinerary is the Rainbow Mountain (Vinicunca) excursion. Rainbow Mountain – Walking Activity This hike is done at high altitude and can feel physically demanding for some travelers, mainly due to the elevation rather than the distance. The walking pace is moderate, with time to rest along the way. Local horses are available (optional, paid locally) to assist travelers who may want to reduce the effort. If at any point you feel that this activity may be too challenging or simply not to your liking, we can remove the Rainbow Mountain excursion from your itinerary and offer more relaxed alternative activities instead, without affecting your overall travel experience. All other visits, including Machu Picchu, involve gentle walking at a relaxed pace, and no long-distance trekking is required.

How much more would upgrading our hotel stays be, and about how much the horse back ride in Rainbow Mountain might be? We would need a room with two beds, since we are friends traveling together. Overall the tour was excellent. No one can control traffic and Lima after the first city tour took 2 hours to get home and the dunbuggy and sand boarding trip took 6 hours to get home. Mcchu Pechu with Roland was out of the world as the sun was out and Roland was so knowledgeable and friendly. The group chose not to go to Rainbow mountain and you have heard the negative review ( l was sick with altitude sickness and didn’t go). The care that l received at the macsalud clinic (5-10 minutes from hotel) was exceptional and would suggest that you give clinic name/ number for future tours if needed. The eco lodge was clean and provided excellent amenities. Would suggest to mention to future guests any food preferences/ dislikes so lodge can accommodate. Beef was tough and members of our group didn’t eat the pork. Food was excellently presented and more than adequate amounts.Show more

I had such an amazing time during my trip to Peru! One of my favorite activities was the boat ride it was so much fun and the scenery was incredible. I also loved the buggies, it was super exciting! The guides were always friendly and helpful, which made everything even better. And the wines… wow! I loved them so much that I even bought a bottle to take home. In Cusco, I enjoyed every moment, the llamas were adorable, and my guide in Machu Picchu recommended great places to eat. The food was absolutely delicious! I finished my trip in the jungle, staying in the most charming lodge. This is my review of my trip to Peru, where I had the chance to visit both Machu Picchu and the jungle. I traveled with my family and we had such a great time. Everything was fun and memorable, and we really enjoyed sharing this experience together. The food was completely new to me, but it was so delicious. I loved trying flavors I had never tasted before. The jungle was incredible,there were so many beautiful animals, and seeing them in their natural habitat was unforgettable. I also want to thank our guide, Martine, who assisted me at all times and took amazing photos for us in Machu Picchu. He truly made the experience even better. Overall we had a great experience specially the guides during the whole trip they were all professional and helpful, transport was great almost on time for all the trip. Our concern was the hotels, specially the Cusco part, the first hotel wasn’t good far from the city centre where all the main attractions no noise isolation but they were attentive and change it( we wished that they did pick it from the beginning to avoid the hassle) the hotel in Agua Caliente was a disaster small humid smelly room we couldn’t sleep. Big thank you to Luz she was in constant contact with us on WhatsApp and attentive to all our concerns and taking prompt action every time. Thank you all for the unforgettable experience.Show more

Can tourists actually walk to Machu Pichu? I see pictures of people standing on a hill looking down on it; I want to walk to it and see it closely. Is the two-hour walk to Rainbow Mountain strenuous? Will it be snow covered in August?

  Your tour includes access to the Machu Picchu citadel, where the terrain is mostly flat with some stairs, allowing you to walk through the site and see it up close.
  If you would like to enhance your experience, you can add Huaynapicchu or Machupicchu Mountain. This mountain offers spectacular panoramic views.
  
  Regarding Rainbow Mountain, the hike is about 2 hours and can be considered moderately strenuous due to the altitude. In August, it is usually dry season, so snow is not common, but temperatures can be cold, especially in the early morning.

Tour guides: Yes, all guided tours are conducted by professional English-speaking guides. Please note that the guide is included during excursions and tours, not during free time. Transportation: Yes, all airport pick-up and drop-off transfers are included, as well as transportation for all scheduled activities. Tour starting point: The tour begins in Lima.   The announcement regarding the lack of Machu Picchu tickets applies only to new travelers who are trying to make a reservation now. For passengers who booked in advance, we have already secured your Machu Picchu tickets, so there is absolutely nothing to worry about. Your visit is fully confirmed and will proceed as planned. At the moment, Machu Picchu tickets are completely sold out for much of April and May across all circuits. For new reservations, the best option would be to choose travel dates from May 27 onwards, when availability begins to open again, or consider planning the trip for next year to ensure full availability and a better experience.

  However, please note that the lodge in Puerto Maldonado (Amazon area) cannot be upgraded, as the lodge included in the program has fixed accommodation options. Yes, of course.
