  We enjoyed our trip very much. Our guide was great, the hotels nice and the countries amazing. The only problems we had were with the transfers to and from the airports. On our arrival we were supposed to be picked up and we were not. The same thing happened on our departure. This was frustrating and we were afraid that we might miss the plane’s departure. Fortunately, that didn’t happen.Show more

  I was bitterly disappointed with a number of aspects of this Baltic Capitals tour mainly due to the lack of communication from On the Go Tours. They had outsourced this tour to Baltic Vision (no advice given to me at any stage). I was not informed I was on a multi-lingual tour which I am not opposed to but it would have been nice to know of this fact. Initially over 50 people met in the Lobby of the Radisson Blu Hotel in Vilnius Lithuania. We were then split into two groups an English Speaking Tour group going to the places I initially booked to see in 2020 and a German/English Speaking Tour group. There were only four English speakers in my group. Most of the Germans had a smattering of English but not adequate enough to hold any real conversations. I would like to know why I was selected to be in the multi-lingual group as I have no German language. There would be lengthy descriptions of excursions and daily activities given in German by the Tour Leader and to a much lesser extent then in English. A number of the Germans would talk throughout the English explanations which I found disrespectful to the Tour Leader plus made it difficult to hear all the information being given. However, Baltic Vision did provide one of the best information packages I have received in over 40 years of extensive travel, providing a daily program; explanation of optional activities and costs; and maps of Baltic capital cities. I believe Baltic Vision do need to review some aspects of their operational procedures. The Tour Leader and Coach Driver were presented with a number of challenges in catering for a disabled group member utilising a wheelchair and are to be commended for their support of this man. There was also a totally oblivious passenger to what was going on around him and did not appear to have any empathy for other group members. He was late every single time he had to be on the coach for departure. He kept everyone waiting from 10-15minutes. It was incredibly frustrating also when he was about to get off the coach as he would block the aisle whilst packing up his large amount of camera equipment thus preventing others from alighting, We lost count of the number of times the Tour Leader would have to go in search of him! I found the Optional Excursion to the Curonian Spit a completely frustrating day as due to a foot injury I could not participate in any of this day's activities due to the pouring rain, steep inclines and slippery conditions walking to sand dunes, various sites and on muddy forest paths. There was no alternative offered so I spent the whole day on the bus doing nothing. You felt guilty if you did not go on this trip as the coach driver would have had to retrace his route to collect you from the previous night's accommodation that was not in the centre of the village. Most group members were exhausted at the end of this day and were both cold and damp! Not much fun from my observations of what was supposedly a trip highlight!!!!!!! I also believe walking to night time restaurants in pitch dark was totally inappropriate whether it be along village lanes or cobblestoned city streets in dry, cold or wet weather. Share rides should have been arranged for those wishing to utilise them. Passengers would not have had to pay very much for Bolt services. Similarly, group members completed walking tours in pouring rain, had to walk long distances to get to some sites and generally spent time not appreciating what they came to see as they struggled in the dreadful weather conditions. The health and safety of passengers was really not taken into consideration. It is sheer luck that there was only one person injured, requiring visits to two different hospitals, on one of these optional excursions. An alternative program should at least be on standby when conditions make walking in heavy rain dangerous!!! One group member's luggage never made it onto the bus and was left behind at the previous night's accommodation. Missing two days of activities when all your clothes are in your suitcase was devastating for the group member. This situation could easily be solved by the Travel Company providing group members with a company luggage tag to ensure there is an accurate count of suitcases at each loading and unloading of the coach. Also, it would be extremely helpful if passengers also received a lanyard /name tag to help group members at least get to know one another better and call one another by their names. On the previous Small Group Tour I had competed before the Baltic Capitals Explorer I knew everyone by name, received updated information from the Travel Company and made quite a number of new friends that I will stay in touch with via social media. It is such a shame that I did not come away from this trip feeling this was a fantastic experience that I would recommend to fellow travellers!Show more

  Baltic Tours provided a good balance of guided tours to acclimate us to a new destination and free time to explore. The guides were all very knowledgable and seemed passionate. When the airconditioning on our bus broke, we had a replacement bus at the next location. I appreciated that we were not pressured to take the optional excursions. I would definitely use them for tours in the future.Show more
