Itinerary
- Day 1
Reykjavík
You'll arrive in Reykjavík and have time to explore the capital at your own pace. Head over to check out The Sun Voyager or walk around the Old Harbour area if you're interested in the Viking heritage sites scattered throughout the city. This evening you'll meet your Travel Director and the other people on your trip for drinks and appetizers. After that, you'll settle into the Grand Hotel Reykjavík, which features local artwork throughout the rooms.

- Day 2
Reykjavík - Borgarnes
Start the morning with a guided tour through Reykjavík's main sights including Parliament, the Harpa Concert Hall, and Hallgrímskirja Church. Then you'll head out through the underwater Hvalfj6r6ur tunnel to reach Akranes, where there's a Folk Museum and lighthouse with good views over the water. After that, continue on to Reykholt to see where medieval author Snorri Sturluson lived and worked. The day wraps up at two waterfalls, Hraunfoss and Barnafoss, which you'll see on your way back.

Snæfellsnes Peninsula
Today you're heading to the Snæfellsnes Peninsula, and you'll see why people call it 'Iceland in miniature' because there's so much packed into one area. Throughout the day you'll pass glaciers, waterfalls, lava fields, and volcanic peaks along the coastline. Keep an eye out for seals hanging around the black sand beaches, and you'll definitely see Kirkjufell, which looks like something out of a fairy tale sitting by the sea. You'll return to Borgarnes for the evening and have free time to walk the waterfront or check out the Settlement Centre if you want.

Thingvellir National Park - Golden Circle - Selfoss
You'll travel the Golden Circle route today and see some incredible natural features one after another. First is Gullfoss, the 'Golden Waterfall,' which has an interesting history involving a farmer's daughter who fought to protect it. Next you'll go to Geysir where Strokkur shoots water and steam way up into the air every few minutes. Then you'll explore Thingvellir National Park, a UNESCO site where you can actually see the tectonic plates that have shaped the landscape. In the evening, you'll have dinner at a private Be My Guest experience in Selfoss with a local storyteller and her songwriter husband.

- Day 5
Reykjanes Peninsula - Blue Lagoon - Reykjavík
Start at Hellisheidarvirkjun, Iceland's newest geothermal power station, to learn how the country generates energy sustainably. From there you'll cross the Reykjanes Peninsula, which is a UNESCO Global Geopark and one of the few places where you can see the Mid-Atlantic Ridge above water. You'll see lunar-like landscapes around Lake Kleifarvatn and stop at Strandarkirkja. Later, you'll have time to soak in a natural geothermal lagoon with mineral-rich waters. You'll head back to Reykjavík for a final dinner with your Travel Director and the other people from your group.
