They booked everything last minute even though we paid 3 months prior. We were put in the wrong hotels. We were on the phone 8 hours trying to ensure our flight from Vilankulos to Maputo. Vilankulos was beautiful and had some pristine beaches. We had one less day in Vilankulos than per the tour itinerary because of the flight schedules to Maputo. It would have been nice to spend the extra day on the coast. The trip to Inhaca island was an adventure and I wish we had a better idea of what it entailed so we could have dressed appropriately. The ferry takes 2hrs one-way and there is no pier at the island so you have to wade ashore….we had jeans and sneakers on, but shorts and flip flops would have been better and a jacket for the ferry ride would have been better. The Maputo city tour is good, but honestly there is less to do in the city and I think we would have enjoyed the trip better if we spent the 7December at the coast. The airport transfers and logistics were good/helpful, and having breakfast and dinner covered by the lodgings made it cost-effective. However the breakfast at the Tivoli Hotel in Maputo was always cold.Show more

  My husband and I will be travelling with our 9.5 year old in June. We are looking at the Non-diver Adventure package. Is Tofo the only place we would see whale sharks and manta rays, or is that likely at some of the places the Discovery tour goes as well? Our daughter has snorkelled before and is pretty comfortable with it.
