    Kathmandu

    Land at Tribhuwan International Airport and get picked up for transfer to your hotel. You'll meet with your guide to go over trekking gear and sort out the necessary permits.

  2. Day 2

    Kathmandu

    You have the full day to yourself in Kathmandu. Check out temples, stupas, and cultural sites around the city, or just wander at your own pace. By evening, sit down with your trekking guide to finalize equipment and go over final preparations.

  3. Day 3

    Kathmandu to Bhadrapur to Taplejung

    Fly from Kathmandu to Bhadrapur, a 55-minute flight, then catch a local bus heading to Taplejung. You'll spend the night in Taplejung Bazaar.

  4. Day 4

    Taplejung to Sekathum

    Take a jeep from Taplejung to Tapethok, which takes about 3 to 4 hours and passes through the KCAP checkpoint and several villages along the way. After that, you'll trek uphill for roughly two and a half hours to reach Sekathum, where you'll stay in a homestay.

  5. Day 5

    Sekathum to Amjilosa

    Trek from Sekathum to Amjilosa over about 5 hours. The walk starts off fairly easy on flat terrain, then gets steeper as you climb toward Amjilosa, a small rural area with tea shops and stores. You'll sleep in a guesthouse.

  6. Day 6

    Amjilosa to Gyabla

    Head out for a 5 to 6 hour trek to Gyabla through jungle terrain. The settlements you pass have people who follow Buddhist traditions. Guesthouse accommodation again.

  7. Day 7

    Gyabla to Ghunsa

    Trek to Ghunsa at 3695m takes roughly 6 hours through jungle. You'll pass through native settlements where residents trade with Tibet and head to India during winter for business. Overnight in a guesthouse.

    Ghunsa to Khambachen

    You'll trek for about 6.5 hours to reach Khambachen at 4099m, a dense settlement with strong Tibetan cultural influences. The local art and architecture reflect Tibetan traditions. Sleep in a guesthouse.

    Khambachen

  10. Day 10

    Khambachen to Lhonak

    Trek through rocky boulder fields along the riverbank, see a waterfall, cross a bridge to Ramtang, walk past small landslides, and eventually reach Lhonak at 4785m. Guesthouse for the night.

  11. Day 11

    Lhonak to Pangpema to Lhonak

    Start early and trek to North Base Camp called Pangpema at 5143m to view the main peak of Kanchenjunga and other major peaks, plus water flowing from the gorge. Trek back down to Lhonak for the night, and you'll get good mountain and yak views on the way.

    Lhonak to Ghunsa

    Head down through jungle terrain along the Kambachen River. You'll see mani walls and prayer flags hanging in trees, cross a wooden bridge, and make your way back to Ghunsa.

  13. Day 13

    Ghunsa to Selele Pass

    Climb steeply through rhododendron forests to Tamo La Pass where you'll find prayer flags, then move up to another ridge at 4115m with views of the Ghunsa River and north Kanchenjunga glacier. Keep scrambling with Kanchenjunga west in view. Tea house overnight.

    Selele Pass to Tsaram

    Cross Mirgin La Pass and head up to Sinon La at 4660m and another pass at 4700m. Descend toward Simbhu Khola Valley. If you're interested, there's an optional visit to Ramche Village at 4620m and Yalung glacier south base camp. Sleep at Tsaram at 3870m.

    Tsaram to Ramche

    Follow a rocky path along the stream to mani walls with Buddhist prayers, then see the peaks of Rathong at 6678m and Kabru Dome at 6700m at the valley head. Climb along Yalung Glacier moraine to a lake and meadow at Ramche at 5225m where you get great views of Rathong peak. Blue sheep herds are often spotted on the cliffs above. Guesthouse overnight.

  17. Day 17

    Tsaram to Trongden

    Follow Simbua Khola down to a campsite at Lamite Bhanjyang. There's a pond nearby at 3410m, which makes for scenic camping, though water can sometimes be hard to find. Overnight at Trongden.

    Trongden to Yamphudin

    Long hike taking 8 to 9 hours down to Yamphudin at 2090m. The trek starts through jungle with views of landslides, then passes through mixed communities of Limbu, Sherpa, Gurung, and Rai ethnic groups. You'll see rice and corn fields along with villages that have schools and shops. Guesthouse for the night.

  19. Day 19

    Yamphudin to Khebang

    Start by descending and crossing Omje Khola to the halfway point, then climb through jungle with cardamom and orchid plants. Pass a small village with thatched roof houses and local shops. Steeply ascend to Khebang Danda and descend to Khebang village where residents follow both Hindu and Buddhist traditions. Sleep in a guesthouse.

    Khebang to Hapu Khola

  • Payment information
    • For any tour departing before April 7th, 2026 a full payment is necessary. For tours departing after April 7th, 2026, a minimum payment of 20% is required to confirm your booking with Adventure Himalayan Travels. The final payment will be automatically charged to your credit card on the designated due date. The final payment of the remaining balance is required at least 60 days prior to the departure date of your tour. TourRadar never charges you a booking fee and will charge you in the stated currency.
