Itinerary
- Day 1
Iquitos to Jungle Lodge
After landing at Iquitos airport, you'll head to the main harbor and board a speedboat to see the floating houses in Belen district. The boat then takes you down the Amazon River to your ecological reserve lodge. Following lunch, you'll trek through the forest with a guide pointing out medicinal plants and spotting wildlife. Later in the evening, a night jungle walk lets you take in the sounds of the tropics and catch sight of nocturnal insects and frogs active after dark.

- Day 2
Jungle Lodge, Amazon River
This morning starts early with a canoe ride at Shansho Lagoon for bird watching before breakfast. Next, you'll visit the Yagua native community to learn about their customs, language, and how they hunt with blowguns, plus there's time to pick up handcrafts. After lunch, you're out on the Amazon River visiting a wildlife caretaker who works with sloths, monkeys, turtles, caimans, and snakes. The day wraps up watching the Amazon sunset and then taking a canoe out at night to look for caimans.

Landmarks Shansho Lagoon Amazon River - Day 3
Jungle Lodge, Shansho Lagoon
After breakfast, you'll go to a private primate conservation project where you can see five different endangered species. Following that, a canoe ride takes you through Shansho Lagoon to observe the giant Victoria Regia water lilies with an ecological guide who speaks your language. Later, you'll move to another lake for fishing, trying to catch piranhas, catfish, and fresh water sardines. Back at the lodge, lunch is served, and then you'll spend the night there in the jungle.

Jungle Lodge to Iquitos
After breakfast, double check that you've packed everything from the jungle lodge before transferring to Iquitos airport. Your flight departs from there to your next destination.
