Hello Thomas, Thank you so much for your kind words and wonderful review. I am so happy to know that you had such a great experience and enjoyed your time in the Galapagos Islands. It was a pleasure for us to help you during your trip, and our whole team was happy to assist you every step of the way. Reading your experience truly means a lot to us. I am also happy that you could see the penguins on Isabela Island. That is a very special experience and one of the best memories many travelers take home from the Galapagos. We really hope to welcome you again in the future because there are still many beautiful places to discover in Ecuador and all around South America. Best wishes to you and your mom, Your local friend, Jeferson :)

Dear Mihaela, Thank you so much for sharing your honest feedback with me. I truly appreciate you taking the time to explain your experience in more detail. I’m very happy to hear that the cruise was the highlight of your trip and that you enjoyed it to the fullest. That’s wonderful to know ???? I completely understand your perspective regarding San Cristóbal. After such an incredible cruise experience, it can feel less extraordinary in comparison. Regarding the hotel, I would also like to mention that it is indeed classified as a boutique hotel; however, I truly appreciate your comments, as they help me better align expectations and improve future recommendations. Thank you again for your openness and for trusting me with your journey. It was a real pleasure assisting you, and your feedback is very important to me. A big hug, Nicole

I'd like to know in June which tours have a few people on them as I don't want to be alone

    Group size
    • Responsible Travel South AmericaOperatorWritten May 2026

At the moment, we don't have any more confirmed passengers for June, however you will be joining daily group tours, so you won't be on any activities alone, the only difference is that you will be with a different group each day no more than 16 travelers.

    • Responsible Travel South AmericaOperatorWritten June 2026

September and October are among the best months to visit the Galapagos, as the cooler waters attract an incredible variety of marine wildlife, including sea lions, penguins, marine iguanas, and many seabirds.

    • Responsible Travel South AmericaOperatorWritten June 2026

In any case, you will not be alone during the excursions, as all daily activities are conducted on a shared basis with other travelers in groups of up to 16, which also gives you the chance to meet new people every day.

    1. is the transportation included between Quito and the Galapagos islands? 2. we like the 14 Day guided tour itinerary offer by Responsible Travel, but that tour has too few days in Galapogas islands. is it possible to combine the front part of the 14 day guided tour (non Galapagos) + the 10 day guided Galapagos island hopping tour offer by the same company? 3. could you give me the tour price per person for 3 star hotels and 4 star hotels if we would like to upgrade?

    • Responsible Travel South AmericaOperatorWritten January 2026

Yes, transfers (airport - hotel - airport) are included, so the day that you will fly to the Galapagos Islands, you will have assistance from your English-Speaking Driver Guide.

Mixing both programs, 14 Days in Ecuador Highlights Amazon and Galapagos Islands and the 10 Days Galapagos Island Hopping in Santa Cruz and Isabela, here's what I suggest:

Day 1: Arrive in Quito and transfer to your hotel
Day 2: Otavalo Experience (Cuicocha - Cotachi - Plaza de Los Ponchos)
Day 3: Mindo Full day (hiking, chocolate experience, hummingbirds, waterfalls)
Day 4: Quito to Cotopaxi (hiking activity) - overnight in Baños
Day 5: Baños Waterfall Route and transfer to your Amazon Lodge
Day 6: Amazon Lodge Day #2
Day 7: Amazon Lodge Day #3 - return to Quito
Day 8: Flight to the Galapagos Islands (Not Included in the price) and explore the highlands of Santa Cruz (giant tortoises)
Day 9: Kayak activity in Tortuga Bay
Day 10: Speedboat to Isabela Island and Tintoreras Islet
Day 11: Sierra Negra Volcano hike activity
Day 12: Leisure Morning and Speedboat to Santa Cruz Island
Day 13: Hiking and Snorkeling on an uninhabited island
Day 14: Transfer to Baltra Airport and Departure

Price per person in 3*: $3 490 USD (Flights Not Included)
Price per person in 4*: $4 050 USD (Flights Not Included)

I have included a total of 7 days in the Galapagos Islands. This route includes a mix of breathtaking landscapes, culture, indigenous communities, and unique activities in the Islands while you encounter wildlife.

Why is that? Is hotel in Quito included?

    Accommodation
    Tour Details
    • Responsible Travel South AmericaOperatorWritten October 2025

The itinerary includes one night in Quito to connect with the flights to the Galápagos, since flights to the islands are only available in the morning. The local flights are not included in order to avoid unnecessary taxes. Once the tour is purchased, I can suggest airlines and schedules so you can book the flights directly.

What is the activity level for climbing Dierra Negra?

    Tour Details
    • Responsible Travel South AmericaOperatorWritten November 2024

You will begin your hike at 08:30 AM. It's a 4 to 5-hour hike considering the return, the hike is moderately challenging, primarily due to the distance. Is relatively flat, with moderate inclinations along the trail.

    Travel Support
    • Responsible Travel South AmericaOperatorWritten November 2024

Regarding your question: I will arrange scuba diving for you on Day #3 instead of visiting an uninhabited Island. Nevertheless, I only have available spaces on the following dates: - December 26th,2024: North Mosquera / Seymour Channel - December 27th,2024: Daphne with Seymour or Gordon Rocks. For all of them, You should have your PADI license, 25 immersions, and at least 8 months from the last one.
