- Day 1
Kigali to Nyungwe Forest
You'll start by driving out to Nyungwe Forest, one of the largest forests in East and Central Africa. The route takes you through Butare (Huye), Rwanda's second largest city, where you'll stop to see Nyanza, the former Mwami's palace. From there, it's on to your lodge where dinner and overnight accommodation await you.

Nyungwe Forest
After an early breakfast, you're heading into Nyungwe National Park for chimpanzee tracking, with roughly an hour to watch and photograph them in their natural setting. Back at the hotel you'll have lunch, then the afternoon brings a canopy walk through the park where you can see the forest from above. Dinner and overnight stay follow at your lodge.

Nyungwe Forest to Kibuye
Following breakfast, you'll drive to Kibuye on the shores of Lake Kivu, one of Rwanda's major lakes situated in the Albertine Rift valley. The afternoon is yours to relax by the lakeshore, taking in the views and the peaceful setting. You'll spend the night at your hotel there.

Landmarks Lake Kivu - Day 4
Kibuye
After breakfast, you'll take a boat ride across Lake Kivu where you can see local fishermen at work and spot various bird species. Once back on shore, you'll have lunch, and the rest of your day is free for relaxing on the beach and soaking in the lakeside atmosphere.

Landmarks Lake Kivu - Day 5
Kibuye to Akagera National Park
You'll transfer from Lake Kivu to Akagera National Park, traveling through Kigali along the way. Upon arrival at the park, you'll settle into your accommodation and have lunch. Later in the day, you'll take a boat trip on Lake Ihema to watch hippos and crocodiles in their habitat.

- Day 6
Akagera National Park
Starting with an early breakfast, you'll spend the full day on game drives in an open-roofed 4x4 vehicle. You'll look for elephants, buffalos, hippos, lions, Masai giraffes, gazelles, impalas, baboons, leopards, and other wildlife. An evening game drive follows after lunch, then you'll return to the lodge for dinner.

Landmarks Akagera National Park - Day 7
Akagera National Park to Kigali
You'll have breakfast and take a morning game drive before departing Akagera National Park. From there, it's the drive back to Kigali Airport in time for your flight home, ending your Rwandan adventure.
