Itinerary
- Day 1
Chennai to Pondicherry
A driver picks you up from your Chennai hotel or airport for the drive south toward Pondicherry, a scenic route covering about 235 kilometers. You'll stop in Kanchipuram to see the famous silk sarees and browse the ancient temples there. From there, you head to Mahabalipuram to visit the Shore Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage site with real historical significance. Once you've taken in the temple and surrounding area, the drive continues to Pondicherry where you check into your hotel for the night.

Pondicherry
After breakfast at your hotel, you'll spend the day getting to know Pondicherry's personality. First up is Auroville, an experimental township from 1968 that was created around the idea of universal harmony. Later, you'll walk through the French Quarters, where you can see colonial villas, French schools, Raj Nivas, and Government Square mixed in with Tamil architectural styles and various churches scattered throughout. By evening, you'll head to the beach to unwind before heading back to your hotel.

Pondicherry to Thanjavur
After eating breakfast, you'll leave Pondicherry and travel toward Thanjavur, approximately 185 kilometers away. The route passes through Chidambaram, where you'll stop at the Nataraja Temple to see the Chidambara Rahasya. Later, you visit the UNESCO World Heritage sites at Gangaikonda Cholapuram and Darasuram, both known for intricate stone carvings and historical importance. You'll arrive in Thanjavur by evening and check into your hotel.

Thanjavur to Trichy
Your morning starts with breakfast before heading to the Brihadeshwara Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage site and one of India's largest temples. After that, you'll check out the Vijayanagar Fort, Thanjavur Palace, and the Thanjavur Art Gallery, which has bronze and stone sculptures on display. Then it's a drive to Trichy, about 60 kilometers away, where you'll see the Sri Ranganathaswamy Temple, the Rock Fort, and the Jambukeswarar Temple before settling into your hotel for the night.

After breakfast, you'll leave Trichy and head back to Chennai on the final leg of your tour, covering approximately 330 kilometers. Your driver drops you off at your Chennai hotel or airport, bringing this cultural tour to an end.
