Highly recommend this trip. The days can be long but the views are worth it. Most of the route is paved so you can probably get away with hiking shoes or trail running shoes. There is luggage transfer available but I didn't need it. The route from Unken to Waidring could be updated but I was able to find an alternate route with the map. Before you start you're given the full itinerary with a navigation system on the app as well as paper copies of everything.Show more

  In October it is already much cooler than in midsummer, but it can still be perfect hiking weather, especially at the beginning of October, although you should expect a few rainy days during this month.
