My daughter and I completed the "Legend of the Nile: 6-Days Tour" from Cairo to Aswan to Luxor, featuring a sleeper train and a comfortable Nile cruise. Overall, we had a good experience. The organization was excellent, from the pick-up at our hotel to the drop-off at the train station. The team was helpful and accommodating, ensuring that all our needs were met during the trip, which made the experience enjoyable. Our tour guide, Mirna, was knowledgeable. He provided us with various options for activities during the tour that were not included in the package. This flexibility allowed us to experience the destinations in a way that suited our interests. The tour itself - exploring the wonders of Aswan and Luxor was absolutely fantastic. The ancient sites, stunning landscapes, and rich history made for an unforgettable adventure. While the sleeper train from Cairo to Aswan was not my favorite mode of transportation, we opted for a flight on our way back, which was much more comfortable and convenient, thanks to the help of the team.Show more

He took the time to explain everything in depth while traveling to our destinations and when it was allowed, at each temple showing examples. He was always friendly and willing to assist us with any questions or concerns we had. My experience of the sleeper train was unbelievably odious, starting with the 3rd world standard of the "VIP” waiting room at Giza station where we were made to spend 1 hour. The toilet was so disgusting even the attendant didn't try to charge for use. Our cabin on the train was grim, the old ripped worn carpet only partly covering the floor, so the door kept catching when you open it., The sink still stank of urine from the previous occupiers use, the stained the bedding, the grime table trays on which our food was presented. Having said that other travellers on the boat had a different experience so it might depend on the coach you are in. Needless to say we paid the extra to fly back to Cairo. What can I say, not one single woman employee on the entire experience, except of course for the scantily dressed belly dancer entertainer on the last night on the boat! I lost clothes left in the cabin, that took 2 days to find, by which time I was back in the UK! The boat was okay but could have been cleaner (comes from having an entire crew of young men), the mattress was uncomfortable and lumpy, the food was very good, the staff were helpful.Show more

Dear Mrs. Venessa , Thank you so much for taking the time to review our tours , we would like to clear that we have ONLY one sleeper train around Egypt and if you didn't like it then it is not something we can arrange although we upgraded the return upon your request to a flight for 20 USD extra with private transfers at Cairo and Luxor airport , it is great that you don't have any problem with the cruise , guides , tours and so on , although you kept us searching behind you for the stuff you forget everywhere like forgetting your clothes in the boat and remember that after getting back to Cairo and ask for our help then 2 stars ,, HOW CONVIENIENT ????

Overall the trip was great. All the tour guides were very knowledgeable and we especially liked Mary who guided us in Aswan to see the Philae temple, and Sayed who guided us in Luxor. Sayed was very helpful, able to adapt to requests and was great company. Thank you Sayed, you were amazing. The sleeper train was an experience. We had low expectations which were pretty accurate on cleanliness and facilities. However the guard (one per carriage) was wonderful. We always felt safe and it was lovely to wake up to views of the Nile. We didn’t eat the food as had eaten beforehand, which I would definitely advise. We took both the extras (balloon ride and trip to AbuSimbel.) This meant we were up every morning around 4.30/5am! Abu Simbel was good but maybe one to miss if you’re tired. The balloon ride in Luxor was absolutely outstanding. I didn’t know what to expect and with a fear of heights I had not thought about it until the morning we went. It was one of the most peaceful and beautiful experiences I have had. The major drawback of the trip was the eternal request for tips; on every mode of transport to the driver, to the guide, to people who insisted on taking your photo in the temples/tombs, and finally to the boat staff who were very angry at the tip we gave them for taking our bags to the taxi. We would have taken our own bags, however they grabbed them before we had a chance. One would have assumed that on a five star (?) boat taking your luggage to and from the quayside would be part of the service. However, we had 5/6 men on the quayside angry with the tip we gave them which was very intimidating. Fortunately, Sayed, our guide, dispelled the situation. We were happy to give him, and our driver, a generous tip but were not happy about being harassed by the sailors. One more thing to note is that you need to pay for all drinks on the boat, including water, coffee at breakfast, which was a surprise. Finally, we were given our bill on the boat before the balloon ride, i.e. at 5am. It was not added up, their card machine was “not working”. When we didn’t have enough cash, the total changed. We settled on the higher amount when we collected our bags at the end of the day, in cash. Not very 5 star!!!!Show more
