Itinerary
- Day 1
Vienna
You'll arrive in Vienna and have a welcome meeting at 6 pm. If you get there early, there's plenty to do around the city. The Prater Ferris Wheel gives you great views from above, or you could grab coffee and cake at one of the local coffeehouses. After meeting your group, you'll have dinner together and try some traditional dishes like goulash or Wiener schnitzel.

Vienna
Your leader takes you on a walk through Vienna's center, stopping at St Stephen's Cathedral, the Graben, Hofburg Palace, and the Ringstrasse before ending at the State Opera House. You'll take a coffee break at Vollpension, a local cafe that hires older community members. The afternoon opens up for you to explore on your own.

Vienna - Cesky Krumlov
You'll leave Vienna by minivan this morning and head into the Czech Republic toward Cesky Krumlov, a medieval town from the 13th century. A local guide meets you at the main square and walks you through the Old Town, showing you the city's oldest pharmacy. The day ends at Cesky Krumlov Castle where you'll see the royal gardens and get panoramic views of the town below.

Cesky Krumlov
Today is completely yours to do as you like. You can take an optional guided tour of the castle if you want, check out the Egon Schiele Art Centrum to see works by the Austrian painter, or try something more active like canoeing on the Vltava River for a different view of the town.

Cesky Krumlov - Prague
You'll travel by bus to Prague today. Once there, your leader gives you an orientation walk so you know your way around the neighborhood. After that, the afternoon and evening are yours. Prague has a known jazz scene with clubs open late, or you could walk along Charles Bridge and Old Town Square for photos.

- Day 6
Prague
This day is free for you to wander Prague however you like. The Old Jewish Cemetery in the Jewish Quarter is worth seeing, with about 12,000 tombstones and 100,000 graves making it Europe's oldest surviving Jewish cemetery. Later, you'll meet back with your group and can organize dinner and drinks at one of the city's famous beer halls.

Prague - Wroclaw
You'll take a local train and private bus across into Poland heading toward Wroclaw. There's a stop in Swidnica to visit the Lutheran Church of Peace. You arrive in Wroclaw in the early afternoon, check in, and join your leader for an orientation walk around this historic city. The rest of today and all of tomorrow are free for you to discover the city on your own.

Wroclaw
You have the full day to explore Wroclaw however you want. Ostrow Tumski (Cathedral Island), the Old Town Square, and the Four Denominations District all show off the city's architecture and history. You could also take in views from the River Oder or check out the cultural scene. Your leader can point you toward local spots worth visiting.

Wroclaw - Krakow
A local train gets you to Krakow, one of Poland's most well-known cities and a UNESCO site. Your leader takes you on an orientation walk, then you explore one of Central Europe's largest medieval squares. You'll see Wawel Royal Castle overlooking the Vistula River, check out Rynek Glowny (the 13th-century town square), and visit St Mary's Basilica. The evening is yours, and the Jewish Quarter has a relaxed feel with good food.

- Day 10
Krakow
You'll travel to Oswiecim for a guided tour of the Auschwitz-Birkenau State Museum, then head back to Krakow in the afternoon to explore. Another option is the Wieliczka Salt Mines, where tunnels and chambers stretch 135 meters underground and operated for more than 700 years. Your group gets together in the evening for pierogi and beers to celebrate the trip.

You leave Krakow today and travel by bus through southern Poland to Tatranska Lomnica in Slovakia, a small alpine resort. Your hotel sits right at the base of the High Tatra Mountains, the highest range of the Carpathians, stretching about 60 km across the Polish-Slovakian border and perfect for hikers. Tonight you can relax and take in the mountain atmosphere.

Tatra Mountains

The evening is for relaxing after travel, whether that's dinner at a restaurant or hitting up one of the ruin bars in the Jewish Quarter.

Budapest
You have the full day to explore Budapest at your own pace. A boat trip along the Danube gives you another way to see the city. The funicular takes you up to Buda Castle for views of Parliament and the Pest side. Budapest's thermal baths are really worth trying, with pools at different temperatures and some with chess-playing areas. Your group might get together for dinner to mark the end of your trip.

Budapest
