Day 1
Arrival in Mumbai
You'll arrive at Mumbai Airport and head to your hotel to settle in after your flight. Once you're refreshed, depending on what time you land, there's time for a short walk around the neighborhood or a look through the nearby markets. This gives you a feel for how energetic and lively the streets are around here.

Day 2
Mumbai Sightseeing Tour
After breakfast, you'll spend the full day on a guided tour seeing Mumbai's main attractions. Start at the Gateway of India overlooking the Arabian Sea, then take a leisurely walk along Marine Drive. From there, head to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus to see its architectural details, climb up to the Hanging Gardens on Malabar Hill for some greenery, and finish at Siddhivinayak Temple, one of the city's most important spiritual sites.

Elephanta Caves and Departure
After breakfast, you'll take a boat across the harbor to the Elephanta Caves, a UNESCO World Heritage site with rock-cut temples and sculptures dedicated to Lord Shiva. Your guide will help you explore the ancient caves, then you'll return to your hotel to check out. Later, you'll transfer to the airport for your onward flight.

The team at Varanasi Excursion are great to work with and really know how to look after their guests. My tour began with some additional time in Varanasi which they arranged at my request (see separate review). The seven-day Buddhist Tour that followed was brilliantly organised to include all the major sites in the life of the Buddha, and the guides were all informative, although I struggled to understand some of their English. Special mention must go to T K Roy of Kushinagar, who not only had the clearest English but is a fascinating person who seems to have a high standing in his community, as he was greeted warmly wherever we went. Bablu, the driver for the whole tour, is another great character who navigates the hectic Indian roads with a level of skill that is almost superhuman. Nothing is too much trouble for him and he is great at engaging his guests on a personal level. Again, English communication was a challenge, but we overcame it with the help of translation apps. I didn’t meet Aamir, the tour organiser, in person, but he checked in regularly by phone to ensure that everything was going smoothly and arranged for some of my belongings to be couriered to me when they were accidentally left behind - very helpful. Overall, this was a great tour, and some of the hotels were first-rate, although I was disappointed to spend a few nights without hot water and often struggled to find staff who could converse in English. I was touring in the off-season, but I got the impression that many of the staff were not used to dealing with international guests.

The team at Varanasi Excursion are great to work with and really know how to look after their guests. The Varanasi part of my trip was an add-on to their Private Buddhist Tour (see separate review) and they arranged a great program of activities and provided a wise and informative guide to help me understand this fascinating ancient city. Unfortunately, I struggled to understand some of the guide’s English, although he clearly knew what he was talking about. Bablu, the driver who transported us between sites, is a great character who navigates the hectic city streets with a level of skill that is almost superhuman. One let-down for me was the hotel where I spent two nights without hot water and struggled to find staff who could converse in English. Although I was there in the off-season, I got the impression that the staff were not used to dealing with international guests.

Me and my wife enjoyed this exclusive 3 days tour very much, Mr Shanu our tour guide is very knowledgeable about the culture in Varansi, we highly recommend this tour guide. Besides the driver Mr Bablu has brought us to eat some local cuisine where we tasted the best chicken Briyani in Varanasi. In short we are both well taken care during this trip and we will definitely engage Varanasi Exclusion again for our next visit.

- For any tour departing before February 7th, 2026 a full payment is necessary. For tours departing after February 7th, 2026, a minimum payment of 20% is required to confirm your booking with Varanasi Excursion Pvt Ltd. The final payment will be automatically charged to your credit card on the designated due date. The final payment of the remaining balance is required at least 60 days prior to the departure date of your tour. TourRadar never charges you a booking fee and will charge you in the stated currency.
