  What is the different between Europe escape and the European highlights?

    Both tours are fully guided, depart from Rome, and cover the same spectacular route through 7 countries: Italy, Austria, Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, France, and Switzerland.
    
    Days 1–9 are largely identical across both tours:
    
    • Day 1: Rome → Venice (evening canal exploration)
    • Day 2: Innsbruck → Munich (Brenner Pass scenic drive + 3-course dinner)
    • Day 3: Munich → Rhine Valley (riverboat cruise + wine tasting)
    • Day 4: Rhine Valley → Amsterdam (windmill visit, cheese & clogs demo, canal cruise)
    • Day 5: Amsterdam → Ghent → Paris (medieval Ghent + Paris driving tour)
    • Day 6: Paris – Free Day (optional Paris Like Locals excursion)
    • Day 7: Paris → Burgundy (Beaune wine region) → Swiss Alps
    • Day 8: Swiss Alps – Free Day (optional Jungfraujoch excursion)
    • Day 9: Swiss Alps → Lake Como → Tuscany
    
    Where the tours diverge:
    
    • Day 10 (Both): Pisa → Florence → Rome
    – European Highlights concludes here. Tour ends in Rome on Day 10.
    – Europe Escape includes an additional group dinner in Rome on this day.
    
    • Day 11 (Europe Escape only): Rome – Free Day. A full day to explore the Eternal City at your own pace. Optional excursions include a guided tour of the Colosseum & Roman Forum, the Vatican Museums, and an Evening in Trastevere culinary experience.
    
    • Day 12 (Europe Escape only): Tour concludes after breakfast in Rome.

    We're unable to arrange or book flights for our tours, including from San Diego, California, but I'm happy to guide you on the best way to plan your journey.
    
    For your departure on Sunday 2 August 2026 for Europe Escape tour, the best arrival airports in Rome are:
    
    Rome Fiumicino Airport (FCO) – main international airport (recommended)
    Rome Ciampino Airport (CIA) – smaller airport, also an option
    
    Your tour meeting point is:
    
    BW Blu Hotel Roma
    Largo Domenico De Dominicis, 4, 00159 Roma RM, Italy
    
    From San Diego (SAN) to Rome (FCO or CIA), you will typically have 1–2 stopovers through major hubs such as Los Angeles, Dallas, or New York before arriving in Rome.
    
    We recommend booking a flight that arrives in Rome at least one day before the tour starts, to allow time for rest and any possible travel delays.
    
    From FCO (Fiumicino Airport):
    Taxi directly to BW Blu Hotel Roma (around 35–45 minutes depending on traffic)
    Leonardo Express train to Roma Termini, then taxi (around 45–60 minutes total)
    Private transfer (most convenient option)
    
    From CIA (Ciampino Airport):
    Taxi directly to the hotel (around 25–35 minutes)

  Is this Tour confirmed for August please? I booked the Classic Europe for August 2-14, 2026 but it was cancelled. As I have tickets to London I would like a similar tour around the same dates.

    The tour includes 11 nights in 3–4 star hotels, daily transport on an air-conditioned coach, and the services of a tour leader throughout the trip. Meals are also partly included, with 11 breakfasts and 6 dinners provided.
    
    You'll also get a great mix of included experiences, such as sightseeing in major cities (like Venice, Paris, and Florence), a Rhine River cruise, wine tasting in Germany, a canal cruise in Amsterdam, and guided orientation tours in key destinations.
    
    Flights, visas, travel insurance (purchase separately), some meals, and optional excursions are not included, but you'll have the option to add extra experiences during the tour if you'd like.

  Does the tour include time for an option for soaking in the springs at Montecatini Terme?

    Regarding your question, while the tour does visit Montecatini Terme, there isn't a specific included activity for soaking in the thermal springs. However, you will have free time in the area, and there is also an optional Evening in Montecatini excursion available. During your free time, you're welcome to explore the town at your own pace, and if time allows, you may be able to visit one of the local thermal spas independently.

  what airport should i fly into and out of? im assuming that flights arent included especially since im flying from Hawaii.

    Since there are no direct flights from Hawaii to Italy, you're looking at a total travel time of around 18–20 hours. The most comfortable and straightforward option for 2026 is:
    
    The Best & Easiest Route: United Airlines via San Francisco (SFO)
    
    Route: Honolulu (HNL) → San Francisco (SFO) → Rome (FCO)
    
    Why it's easy:
    
    - Single stop: Only one connection, which is much simpler than routes requiring two or three stops.
    
    - Simple hub: SFO is well-signposted and modern. United operates mainly out of Terminal 3 and the International Terminal, which are connected, so terminal changes are minimal.
    
    - Comfortable pacing: You get the shorter 5-hour flight to SFO out of the way first, then a meal and a chance to stretch before the long 12-hour flight to Rome.
    
    Please note that flights are not included in the tour, so this would be arranged independently.

  Can we book hotel rooms that will allow 3 people to a room? I do not want my 17 year old granddaughter to room with a stranger or myself or my husband. Also are we able to view Neuschwanstein castle in Munich and villa balbianello (Star Wars) in lake como?

    Please note that as per European hotel rules and policy, three travelers are not permitted to stay in one room with twin beds, this cannot be allowed. Therefore the third traveler would need to either be roomed with a fellow traveler of the same gender or purchase a single supplement. We currently cannot offer Room Upgrades and in your groups constitution, the granddaughter will be roomed with one of the adults in your group, while the 2nd Adult can either get a Private Room Upgrade or shame the room with another traveler of the same gender. Additionally, both locations that you mentioned in your message are regrettably not covered on the tour's itinerary and since the activities in Munich and in Lake Como are packed (with very little Free Time), you will not be able to schedule a side trip to visit them.
