Frequently Asked Questions
- Can I start this tour in Paris instead?
Absolutely! You can join and end this tour whenever you wish, however, because this is not a hop on/hop off tour, we cannot amend the cost of your booking on this basis. TourRadar is not a tour operator, rather a marketplace for scheduled group tours. Therefore, the itineraries, accommodation and price cannot be altered as this is determined by the tour operator.
- How do we cross the English Channel?
Expat Explore alternates between the ferry and Eurotunnel to cross the Channel. The ferry route is either from Dover to Calais or Dover to Dunkirk, and the Eurotunnel route is from Folkestone to Calais. You are not able to choose your travel method as this is determined by the itinerary.
- I'm a solo traveller, is there a single supplement?
A single supplement is not mandatory for this tour, as travellers can be roomed with a fellow traveller of the same gender for no additional cost. This is a great way to get to know your group and enrich your travel experience! If you would prefer a little more privacy, a single supplement can be paid, which will guarantee you your own room for the duration of the tour. Please contact our Travel Experts to arrange this.
- Which currency is most widely accepted on this tour?
The accepted currency for the countries visited on this tour are as follows:
- Austria - Euro (EUR)
- France - Euro (EUR)
- Germany - Euro (EUR)
- Italy - Euro (EUR)
- Netherlands - Euro (EUR)
- Switzerland - Swiss franc (CHF)
- United Kingdom - Pound sterling (£) - Do you arrange airport transfers?
Expat Explore can provide airport transfers for passengers, however, they are not included in the tour cost. Please contact our Customer Support team to arrange this.
- What is the minimum tip for tour guides and bus drivers?
Tipping is entirely voluntary and up to you, however, Expat Explore recommends approximately EUR2-EUR4 per day per person travelling for your crew, but this is only a recommendation.
- Is this tour wheelchair friendly?
The nature of group tours is that they are fast-paced, with full itineraries. Unfortunately, a lot of European cities and sights that group tours visit are not very wheelchair friendly. If you are aware of all the possible obstacles and the nature of group tours in Europe, let the customer support team know and we can ask the tour operator if they would be able to accommodate you.
- What does the accommodation in twin rooms refer to?
The twin room accommodations mean that you will be sharing a room with another traveller on your tour of the same gender. The size of the bed would depend on the accommodation each night.
- What is the transportation for this tour?
You will travel in an air-conditioned coach.
- Is there a hotel list available?
Unfortunately, Expat Explore does not release the exact list of hotels that will be used on tour until 5 days prior to the departure.
This is a list of hotels that they typically stay at, but please be advised that they are subject to change:
Paris - Ibis la Defense
Swiss Alps - Alpenrose Hotel & Gardens
Tuscany - Hotel Massimo d'Azeglio
Rome - Hotel Cristoforo Colombo
Venice - Elite Residence Hotel
Munich - ACHAT Premium München-Süd

Hopefully, this list will give you a better idea of what kind of accommodation you can expect while on tour.
