  Disappointing and Poorly Organised Tour of Peru Our recent tour to Peru was unfortunately marred by poor organisation and communication throughout. We received inconsistent information from multiple staff members, which led to confusion around pick-up times, wake-up calls, and daily schedules. This lack of coordination affected our ability to properly enjoy and prepare for each day. Bernardo, one of the coordinators, was consistently unprofessional, at times rude, and failed to provide accurate information. His lateness and lack of preparation for our final airport transfer resulted in us being rushed into a taxi last minute—hardly a smooth or reassuring end to the trip. Cristian, while knowledgeable, appeared disengaged during much of the tour. He frequently rushed through key experiences, skipped sections, and seemed more focused on ending the day early than enhancing our understanding or enjoyment. We had to request additional time at sites, and his frequent use of a mobile phone gave the impression he was uninterested in the group’s experience. Fernando, our driver, was the standout positive—skilled, professional, and always made us feel safe on the road. There were further issues with Machu Picchu ticketing, where we were issued tickets for the wrong dates, and several walking tracks were closed without prior notice. While the natural beauty of Peru remains unforgettable, the poor planning, communication errors, and lack of engagement from key staff unfortunately overshadowed much of what should have been a once-in-a-lifetime experience.Show more

  Itinerary was well rounded visiting the key Inka sites. That said, guides should provide a basic overview of the geography, geology, ecology and culture of the area including pre-Inka sites, so as to provide greater understanding of how the area has developed from Neolithic through Inka and Spanish colonization of the area. The timing of each day was very good. The driver was safe, efficient, familiar with routes and roads and driving conditions. Kantu Tours handled all the schedule, meals en route and hotels (2) while in Cusco and Urubamba. The accommodations were okay, but a loft bedroom for tourists over 60 was presumptive. While in great physical shape, a flat accommodation would be better. Towels were an issue in Cusco, they didn’t replace and only provided one hand towel, no wash cloth for room 310. The sites themselves were great, but by the end of the tour days, it seemed like sales overkill…tourist showcase museum…some people are interested in the flora and fauna, natural vistas, local customs, artisans, and local small town opportunities, which we took on our own (food market, street food, churches, etc. ) not just Inka … Christian did an okay job from our experience in many countries taking private tours.Show more
