Can you give me more information on what type of clothing and footwear would be recommended? Also what are the sleeping arrangements when camping. Are sleeping bags provided? Are leach socks recommended? What would I be carrying when walking? What size of ruck sack would I need?

We can of course provide further information about our packing recommendations and sleeping arrangements. Due to the diversity of altitude encountered on tour, you will need to bring a range of comfortable lightweight clothing that can be layered according to the fluctuating temperature. When camping on the Western Ghats, we'll sleep in two-man Apluine-brand Indian tents. These will be set up and broken down each day by our camp crew. Thick foam sleeping mattresses (5cm thick) are provided but you'll need to bring your own three-seasons sleeping bag. A 30-35 litre bag is recommended. When it has rained there may be leeches in the Ghats and we highly recommend bringing your own leech socks.

Very nice trip, beautiful places included. There was nothing that would be too hard or not important enough for Shree, exceptional tour guide, despite unexpected emergencies, stayed on top of the game and maintained his presence. In retrospect, information on the first day could easily be shared on the 2nd day, the last day had no program scheduled so in fact it would be more appropriate to advertise trip as 9 days long. It would be similarly attractive but more accurate. Very much worth to try!Show more

Small-ish group of only 6 people, huge amount of variety of experiences packed into the itinerary, easy-going but very competent guide, no delays. The food on the walking/camping days was very good and the lunch locations were wonderful. We were blessed with good weather though which definitely helped. Walking along the old elephant path was wonderful (the day before Top Station camp). Payment information
- For any tour departing before October 21st, 2026 a full payment is necessary. For tours departing after October 21st, 2026, a minimum payment of 10% is required to confirm your booking with Explore!. The final payment will be automatically charged to your credit card on the designated due date. The final payment of the remaining balance is required at least 75 days prior to the departure date of your tour. TourRadar never charges you a booking fee and will charge you in the stated currency.
