Whitefish to West Glacier
You'll meet up in Whitefish Saturday morning and start pedaling on a scenic forest road heading toward Glacier National Park. After about 22 miles, you'll stop for lunch right beside the river to refuel and rest your legs. From there, the route takes you through lush alpine meadows where the terrain opens up nicely. By evening, you'll finish with an easy walk along Lake McDonald's shoreline before checking into your lodging in West Glacier. The day covers 44.2 miles total with 1,966 feet of climbing.

Going-to-the-Sun Road
This is the big one - you're riding Going-to-the-Sun Road, which many consider one of America's best cycling days. You'll pedal past waterfalls and evergreen forests with snow-capped mountains framing the whole ride. The main challenge is a relentless 21-mile climb up to Logan Pass at 6,646 feet where you'll gain 3,700 feet. Once you crest the pass, the remaining 20 miles downhill to St. Mary Village feels like a reward. The full route is 39.1 miles.

St. Mary Village to Waterton, Canada
You're crossing into Canada today to ride through Waterton-Glacier International Peace Park. The route follows rolling prairie where you might spot elk, moose, and bighorn sheep wandering around. Behind all that wildlife are views of the craggy Canadian Rockies rising up dramatically. You'll finish in Waterton, a historic little town right in the park where you'll spend the night. Expect 48.6 miles of riding with 3,543 feet of elevation gain.

Waterton to Lake Louise
After a transfer north to Banff (about 4 hours by vehicle), you're back on the bike riding beside the Bow River along the Bow Valley Parkway. The route takes you through thick evergreen forest in Banff National Park, and you'll pedal alongside the sparkling river the whole way to Lake Louise. You're staying two nights at Lake Louise Inn, so you can settle in and get comfortable. This day covers 33.1 miles with 2,165 feet of climbing.

Lake Louise
Today's flexible - you can hike up to a European-style teahouse overlooking the Plain of Six Glaciers and turquoise Lake Louise, or take a shorter walk if that feels better. Another option is pedaling into adjacent Yoho National Park, booking a massage, or just staying at the inn and relaxing. Lunch and dinner are on your own, so you've got total freedom for how you spend this day.

Lake Louise to The Crossing
You're cycling the spectacular Icefields Parkway today with a gradual climb toward Bow Summit where you'll grab lunch. Later you'll hike to Peyto Lake, another brilliant turquoise spot that's worth the detour. After that, you get a long gentle downhill stretch between the peaks heading toward the Saskatchewan River. Before reaching The Crossing for the night, you'll stop at Mistaya Canyon to watch the water rushing through the narrow gorge. The day totals 52.7 miles with 2,880 feet of elevation gain.

The Crossing to Banff
You're back on the Icefields Parkway riding through serious mountain scenery. On the way you'll see the Weeping Wall, a 2,000-foot cliff with multiple waterfalls streaking down it. You'll pedal to the Columbia Icefield and cross into Jasper National Park. There's a hike that gets you close to the famous Athabasca Glacier, then you'll shuttle back to Banff for the night. The cycling portion is 30.9 miles with 2,872 feet of climbing.

- Day 8
Banff to Calgary
Your final day starts from the inn riding along the river to Bow Falls, then up to a viewpoint overlooking Banff and the surrounding mountains. You'll join the Banff Legacy bike path and cycle to the small town of Canmore. After a celebratory lunch, you'll shuttle about an hour to Calgary for final goodbyes. This last ride is 25.7 miles with 1,441 feet of elevation gain.
