Itinerary

  1. Day 1

    Arrival in Kathmandu

    You'll get picked up at Tribhuvan International Airport and driven into central Kathmandu to your hotel. After settling in, you can either rest or stop by the tour office to go over details about your trek and climb ahead.

  2. Day 2

    Kathmandu to Lukla to Phakding

    An early domestic flight gets you from Kathmandu to Lukla, which opens up access to the Everest region. Once you land, the trek kicks off following the Dudh Koshi river through pine forests and past Mani walls with a gradual climb to Phakding.

  3. Day 3

    Phakding to Namche Bazaar

    The trail continues with some elevation gain and loss heading toward Bengar, where you'll pass the National Park Service entrance. After that, it zigzags uphill to a ridge showing off Everest and Lhotse views, then drops through rhododendron and pine forests into Namche Bazaar.

  4. Day 4

    Acclimatization Day in Namche Bazaar

    This is your acclimatization day in Namche Bazaar to let your body adjust. You can hike to Khunde Hospital (built by Sir Edmund Hillary) or walk up to Syangboche for views of Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, Thamserku and Kusum Kanguru.

  5. Day 5

    Namche Bazaar to Tyangboche

    After resting, the path drops through Trashinga village then climbs steeply toward Tyangboche. You'll trek through thick forests and reach a stone gate built by lamas that marks your entry into Tyangboche.

  6. Day 6

    Tyangboche to Dingboche

    You'll gradually work your way up the mountain with Ama Dablam and Kantega in view. The route passes several chortens and Pangboche village with its stone walls around potato fields, then goes past a large Mani Stupa on a mostly moderate trek to Dingboche.

  7. Day 7

    Dingboche to Lobuche

    A downhill trek from Dingboche takes you to Pheriche village. After about two hours you'll hit Dugla at 4,595 meters/15,076 feet where you cross the Khumbu glacier river on a small wooden bridge. Following lunch, you'll climb for around an hour with Mt. Pumori views before reaching Lobuche.

  8. Day 8

    Lobuche to Gorakshep and Everest Base Camp

    The trek follows rocky moraine terrain with glacial ponds and icebergs visible below the Khumbu Glacier. After ascending rocky moraine dunes, you descend to Gorakshep, a flat field with teahouses. From there, head through rocky paths along the Khumbu glacier to Everest Base Camp, spend time exploring, then return to Gorakshep for the night.

    Kala Patthar Summit and Return to Lobuche

    An early morning hike to Kala Patthar at 5,545 meters/18,192 feet gives you sunrise views of Mt Everest, Mt Lhotse, Mt Makalu, Mt Cho Oyu and surrounding peaks. After time at the summit, you'll descend back to Gorakshep for lunch, then retrace your steps to Lobuche.

  10. Day 10

    Lobuche to Lobuche Peak Base Camp

    This is a short and easy trekking day. You'll spend some time in Lobuche before taking an easy trail to Lobuche Peak Base Camp. Your Sherpa crew sets up camp and prepares for the higher altitude camps ahead. You'll rest and get ready for the climb.

  11. Day 11

    Climb to High Camp at 5,400 meters

    Leaving base camp, you'll follow a narrow snow and ice covered trail that may need ropes and crampons. This demanding ascent includes frequent breaks to regain energy. You'll reach a good campsite at 5,400 meters/17,717 feet where the Sherpa crew sets up camp and checks climbing gear and health before tomorrow's summit attempt.

  12. Day 12

    Lobuche Peak Summit Climb

    Summit day is here. Starting early and fully adjusted to the altitude with all gear ready, you'll climb the south ridge through technical sections aiming for the top before noon to avoid strong afternoon winds. Your guides lead you up for views of Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, Nuptse, Pumori and Ama Dablam from the summit before descending.

    Base Camp to Pangboche

    Pangboche to Namche Bazaar

    Mostly downhill trekking from Pangboche to Deboche, then a gradual climb to Tyangboche. You'll trek a leveled path before descending to Phungi Thanga, climbing through Kyangjuma, and finishing with a pleasant walk back to Namche Bazaar.

  15. Day 15

    Namche Bazaar to Lukla

    Your final trekking day leads from Namche Bazaar via Monjo down to Lukla. You'll descend through dense forests of rhododendron, oak and pine trees on a pleasant walk with a few short climbs. You'll cross the Bhote Koshi River three times before a final uphill climb of around 45 minutes brings you back to Lukla.
