    4.5 - Excellent

The Best of Patagonia 13 Days, El Calafate to Ushuaia, was a fantastic experience. The country was amazing, steppes, forests, the Andes Mountains, glaciers and beautiful deep blue coloured lakes. El Calafate and El Chalten were both very beautiful, El Chalten being the trekking capital of Argentina. Further south in the Chilean towns of Puerto Natales and Punta Arenas we continued to experience wonderful country. The bus ride from Punta Arenas to Ushuaia was long but again through interesting scenery and events - ferry crossing of the Magellan Staits, entering and leaving Chile and Argentina, and the wonder of the final passage into Ushuaia, the most southern city in the world. Transport was very comfortable, convenient and reliable, pick ups always being on time. Accommodation was very comfortable, breakfasts were great, and the staff very friendly and helpful. Any thing that needed attention was dealt with very quickly and in a very efficient manner. Fully recommended. Thank you to Lujan and Marcela for their prompt communication and suggestions to make our stay so memorable.

    4.0 - Good

This trip was very good. Accommodation was also good however in El Calafate we were a long way from the township. Everywhere else was within easy walking distance. The tours included in this trip were well operated and most enjoyable. The public bus from Puerto Arenas to Ushuaia was not what we expected. Beautiful coach for the first 5 0r 6 hours. Then the bus was stopped and we all had to get off. The 4 people on the Say Hueque trip were told to get in a car and we were taken to the town Rio Grande. We didnt know what was going on and just told we would catch a local mini bus in an hour from there to Ushuaia. Very strange and no explanation given. This bus company should be investigated to see what is happening. I would definitely recommend this trip however, would suggest a stay in Terres del paine for an extra day to improve it.

Say Hueque did a great job for us. The process for designing the trip was smooth. We especially appreciated the guidance on hotel and restaurant choices, which worked out wonderfully. The assistance on the trip was also exceptional. The transit was always there on time. We made some adjustments during the trip, and they worked out well. The guides were friendly and knowledgable. (There was one element - the shared bus from El Calafate to Torres del Paine - which was pretty routine; we did not get the impression that the driver or guide were very concerned with the particular interests of their passengers. But other than that, the guides for the various tours/adventures were terrific.) And there were the unexpected "extras" - such as being given a package with great maps, etc. upon arriving at a destination - which we greatly appreciated. Finally, having the emergency number and text/message contact was comforting.

    3.5 - Good

When we booked this tour for some reason I had it in my head that it was a group guided tour, so was a bit disappointed to find that it was a self guided tour. It was a good itinerary although a lot of time on transport. My advise would be to follow the rough itinerary but book it yourself. Knowing a bit more about the area now too, I would also have preferred to do it in the opposite direction, starting in Ushuaia and working back up. The hotels were lovely, and all the transport, pickups and tours worked seamlessly and we had a good time during the tour. Just felt it was something we could have organised ourselves, but very convienient ti have it done for you.

We enjoyed our trip to Patagonia, which went very well thanks to everyone at Say Heuque and to your agents. It was great to be met by yourself at the Buenos Aires airport and the gift of a bottle of wine was a nice surprise. Your introduction and explanation of the tour was very well presented. We really appreciated the effort that everyone at Say Hueque made to ensure that there was always someone to meet us at each section of the journey. We were satisfied with the hotels and particularly liked the Tribeca and Patagonia Jarke and enjoyed the excursions, especially in Ushuaia. We really enjoyed the food and of course the wine of Argentina, which was also pretty good in Chile, too! It would have been even better if we able to speak more Spanish (us lazy English travellers, you see) but everyone seemed very forgiving. We would have no hesitation in recommending your company and can assure that anyone booking a holiday from this side of the Atlantic Ocean need have no worries if they ask Say Hueque to tailor-make them a tour. I am usually the sort of person to arrange my travel independently, but for my trip to Patagonia I made an exception. This proved to be a very wise idea indeed; without Say Hueque's expertise, reasonable pricing and astute care, I was able to make the most of my limited time in Patagonia. Their itinerary turned out to be based on a large amount of experience. I had just enough time in each place. The bus journeys were well planned in particular (I appreciated sitting for a day or so to get to Puerto Natales after several days hiking in El Chalten!), and I enjoyed all their suggested activities and places to eat. Most importantly, I never felt like I was wasting time anywhere! It was clear to me the operators that Say Hueque are the best in the area. All the guides were unmatched in their ability and knowledge, and the transfers were efficient and prompt. None of these companies or places to stay let me down in the least. I enjoyed all of the places they arranged for me to stay, especially in Punta Arenas and Calafate. Even when I had to go to a different hostel one night, Say Heuque's reputation and the good contact between me and my agent helped me overcome what would have otherwise been a difficult situation. The excursions were all enjoyable. I thought they balanced each other out quite well, adding just the right amount of action and comfort without being stuck in a touristy group. Summing up, my trip to Patagonia would not have been nearly as smooth or enjoyable without Say Hueque. I was extremely happy I chose to use them, and would definitely go to them for my next adventure in South America.

How do I get to the starting point if I arrive in Santiago, Chile?

If you are flying in to Santiago, you will need to arrange your own way to the starting point in El Calafate, Argentina - a flight would be the quickest way. However, TourRadar doesn't include flights nor can we book flights, a good website for this would be Skyscanner.com
