Cusco is located at a high altitude (approximately 3,400 meters / 11,150 feet), and while many travelers do fine, it's completely understandable to be cautious. We always recommend speaking with your doctor prior to traveling to high-altitude destinations. This program is designed to be enriching yet comfortable. It includes cultural visits and guided tours with some light walking. There is no trekking or strenuous hiking involved. Most of the activities are relaxed and done at a gentle pace, suitable for travelers of different ages and physical conditions. The tour is partially guided, meaning: You will be accompanied as a part of a group by a local guide during all key excursions (such as Machu Picchu, Sacred Valley, and city tours in Lima and Cusco). We are happy to adjust certain parts of the itinerary to accommodate your needs, should you require more rest or a slower pace.
