Is this tour working in March? I am thinking about visiting Israel and I like the Programm of this tour. If yes, how much is the price?

At the moment it seems this tour will not operate in March. The border with Jordan to get to Petra closes too early to be able to do the Petra day. We were expecting it to revert to the usual hours, but it seems this will not happen in March. Also, with the current restrictions, on the return from Jordan you would have to go into isolation for up to 24 hours before being able to fly. This may change at some stage in the future, but it seems it will not happen by March at the moment.

How much walking is involved?

There is a fair amount of walking involved in the tour and you need to be able to fit yourself to the general pace. If it is not possible, and you know your limits, then you can pass on the sites which may be harder to walk for you.

Would my flight from US have to arrive at a certain time of day to be able to use the hotel transfer?

You can arrive at any time of day and we will transfer you to the hotel.

If I do not take your dinner supplement would I be able to join the group for a dinner and pay on my own?

If you don't take the dinner supplement then you can choose where you eat. If you want to eat in the hotel with the group, then that is OK as well, you can pay the hotel directly for any nights you want to eat there. If you take the dinner supplement then the meals are all taken in the hotel dining room.

Do I need a visa to go to Petra?

Unfortunately we are unable to give visa advice due to the vast number of nationalities which our customers represent. Some nationalities can travel freely over borders, where others require advance permission to enter. There are also changes in requirements from time to time. We recommend checking your local embassy or consulate's website for the latest up to date information.

Is the airfare included on this trip?

TourRadar specializes in giving you the best tours from around the world, however the tours we offer do not include airfare and we do not book or advise on airfare. You will be responsible for booking your flights to meet with the group at the starting city.

I travelled as a Solo traveller on English Highlights of Israel & Jordan tour over Christmas. In Israel our guide was Gadi, and our driver was Zed. In Bethlehem, Jonnie took over as our Palestinean guide for that part of the tour. The tour was busy, but never over-paced. I think the winter tours could do with dropping some of the later-in-the-day stops as it was often cold/dark and seemed rushed in the late afternoon's. I found everything interesting,with the Highlights being floating on The Dead Sea, Masada (but I'd love more time so I could trek up The Snake Track), Old Jerusalem (the full-day was great), Bethlehem on Christmas Day, The Golan Heights Winery & tasting, Haifa. Gadi was a patient guide with a wealth of knowledge that he was willing to pass on. Zed was the best coach driver I've seen in many years of travelling. He could manouvre the coach anywhere. He was also like a bodygaurd/security person. I always felt safe with him around. The crossing over into Jordan was slow, but would've been even slower without the help of Steve. In Jordan Mike was our guide & Ibrahim our driver. Bothe were great at therir jobs. Jerash was a surprise highlight with the Archeological site simply awesome. The Hotel (Grand Palace) in Amman was average, but it was only a place to sleep for one night. Petra was simply awesome. I would've preferred more time here, but as mentioned before, it gets dark early at this time of year. An idea might be to cut out Amman, and go straight to Petra after viewing Jerash. That way a full day could be had a Petra? Overall, I was very happy with this group tour & would recommend it to anyone. Please note that you need to be reasonably fit as some days have a decent amount of walking, and there's always steps & uneven surfaces. Thank You CTO. Steve TeRakiShow more

Tour guide and bus driver provided excellent service. We paid for upgrade to Superior Hotels + Half board, we trusted CTO website descriptions, we were duped. It is better not to pay substantial amounts of money for upgrades. Explanation follows: Two nights + Half board (September 15 -17) were spent in KFAR Giladi Kibutz Hotel which do not qualify for Superior Class Hotel. Breakfasts and dinners in this Hotel were same as for people in our group who did not pay for upgrade. And we are talking about hundreds of dollars overpaid. C.T.O management of our itinerary was pure. They made mistakes in flights (to Eilat) time scheduling which I was forced to try to correct in the last day of our Israel part of trip being under stress for several hours. We paid for last dinner at Dan Panorama Tel Aviv not knowing that our return from Eilat was scheduled at late hours when dinner hall is closed. About $150 was lost. CTO knew about unavailability of dinner at late time but just took our money without any correction. Dead Sea visit: dropped us at worst public beach (probably saving money on bus parking), so it was actually dangerous to go to sea with water floor covered with pits knee dip filled with dead sea mud. Not saying about dirty showers and toilets. At Jordan border crossing in Eilat collected $130 cash from each of us knowing that official rate is $65. And so on and so on. Disappointed and feels fooled by false promises, especially that Israel is beautiful country with many really good placed to be for $2500 we paid each for 8 days trip. Show more

At no point were we left guessing as to our transfers or tour details. We accidentally left an item on a coach and after contacting CTO, it was waiting for us when we returned to Israel.
