Do you have any single cabins and if not how much is the single supplement. I want to bike and barge from Amsterdam to Cologne. I want to do this trip in late May 2024

Unfortunately for you, our 2024 trip from Amsterdam to Koblenz is sold out completely. We do not offer Amsterdam to Cologne. These trips are offered only once a year. For 2023 we have space left on the 14th of October trip from Metz, France, to Cochem, Germany. On that trip we do not charge singles extra. We usually ask for a 50% surcharge.

I am interested in participating in this bike/barge with my 15-year-old son and my 81-year-old husband who doesn't bike anymore. Is there a way to allow him to join the group and perhaps only do the barge?

We have added a shuttle service on this tour. The shuttle can take six guests who are not cycling. The charge for the extra car service is 400 euros for the whole trip per person. Your husband is welcome to use the shuttle or stay on board.

I am 64 years old and just retired I have done limited cycling is this suitable for a beginner and do you offer electric bikes, bike helmets etc.

95% of our guests are between 55 and 90 years old. If you can cycle steadily, have a good sense of equilibrium, and get on and of without keeping both feet on the ground, it is only a matter of staying in the saddle long enough. We only have day rides, so we cycle for around 5 hours, between short or longer stops. We have many stops; our total travelling time is around 7 miles per hour. Yes, we supply you with a regular bike or an E-bike, you can order ahead and we will let you pay when you arrive.

We took the Iris Bike and Barge trip from Heidelberg to Amsterdam - it was FANTASTIC!! We loved everything about it from start to finish. The reservations were easy to make and Bike Planet quickly responded to any questions we had. The accommodations were beautiful - very very clean and nicely decorated. The staff went above and beyond to ensure every guest had an awesome experience. The meals were fantastic - five star restaurant meals. We look forward to doing another trip in the future - Lenny and Wouter were awesome and they made sure everyone had a great time and not only did they provide tons of information during the bike trip, you could also join them in the evenings of a walking tour of the village the Iris was docked at. The trip far exceeded our expectations.Show more

I knew I'd made a good decision when we were asked the first night how many had been on an IRIS tour before and the majority of passengers raised their hands. The small number of bikers is great, the grew is fantastic, the captain also, the barge is in great shape, and the bike guides were a joy. Each day was interesting and fun and I saw a lot of country and learned a lot of history visiting museums, castles, ruins, cafes, and churches. Biking was leisurely paced. The cabins were decent size with private baths. I appreciated the little touches such as fresh flowers in the dining area, and different place mats and fancily folded napkins...gives that "y" feeling. And the huge breakfast choices and choices to make lunches made it hard not to over do. The cook was exceptional and adaptions were made for anyone who had special eating needs.Show more

Iris is the 3rd bike barge trip we have done and believe me it is the best we travelled from Amsterdam to Milternberg. Everything was excellent from Lenny our host our 2 guides where very caring and the food wow, the captains where also great we had 2'as you need a special licence for the Rhine.
