Zagreb
You'll arrive in Zagreb and check into your hotel. Spend the day settling in or take a walk along the Strossmayer Promenade to get your first sense of the city. This evening your Travel Director hosts a group dinner so you can meet the other travelers on the trip.

Zagreb
A Local Expert walks you through Zagreb's upper and lower towns. You'll see the Art Pavilion, Academy of Sciences and Arts, and wander through Zrinjevac Park before heading to St. Mark's Church and the Lortscak Tower. From there you walk back down past the Stone Gate to reach the main square. The afternoon is free to relax at your hotel or book an optional trip to Ljubljana if you want.

Zagreb to Plitvice Lakes National Park
This morning you can relax at the hotel or take an optional excursion into the Zagorje region to learn about local traditions and see Marshall Tito's house. In the afternoon you head to your next hotel, which is located right inside Plitvice Lakes National Park. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is Croatia's largest national park, and the main draw is the connected lakes that flow and cascade from one to another.

Landmarks Plitvice Lakes National Park - Day 4
Plitvice Lakes National Park to Trogir
You have a choice today: explore Plitvice Lakes with a Local Expert to learn about habitat research and species tracking, or visit the Tara Community Centre to meet the women creating handicrafts. After that you travel along the coast and stop in Trogir, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that Greeks founded over 2,300 years ago. You'll see the cathedral and Renaissance Cipiko Palace before continuing to your hotel.

Trogir to Dubrovnik
In Split you explore the palace that Roman Emperor Diocletian built, which is now the heart of the Old Town. With a Local Expert you go down into the 1,700-year-old palace cellars and hear the emperor's story. You walk through narrow streets and arcaded squares to see St. Duje's, the Temple of Jupiter, and the Golden Gate. Later you travel down the Dalmatian coast to Dubrovnik, and if weather cooperates you'll take a bay cruise with sparkling wine and a local dinner.

Dubrovnik
Dubrovnik is your focus today, the city George Bernard Shaw once called 'paradise on Earth'. A Local Expert leads you through the stone streets inside the 16th-century walls of the Old Town. You'll visit Onofrio's Fountain, the Old Jewish Quarter and synagogue, plus the cathedral and Franciscan and Dominican monasteries.

Dubrovnik to Budva
You start with the old town of Kotor, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, where you can take in the bay with its blue waters and medieval towns along the coast. Then you continue along the Adriatic to Budva to see its medieval old town. You'll check out religious sites including the 9th-century Church of Santa Maria in Punta.

Corfu
Your day on Corfu is completely free. If you want to stay active you can walk through the Old Town and see the mix of Roman, Venetian, French, and British architecture from different eras of the island's history. Or simply relax at the hotel pool and enjoy the island pace.

Corfu to Delphi
You leave the island and head to Delphi, a cliff-side site that held major importance in the ancient world. The history here runs deep with artifacts from 4,000 BC and remains of early settlements. According to legend this is where Zeus released two eagles from opposite ends of the earth to find 'the navel of the world'.

Delphi to Athens
With a Local Expert you walk up the Sacred Way at Delphi, passing the Treasury of the Athenians and the Polygonal Wall with its perfectly fitted stones. You reach the Temple of Apollo, where the Oracle spoke for 14 centuries and supposedly predicted major historical events. From there you continue on to Athens.

Athens
