  The driver (Mr Deepu)) was excellent - good safe driving, always on time and had a thorough knowledge of the route and itinerary. The hotels were very good to excellent - first night in Cochi a bit disappointing but we moved to a better room and from there the rooms got better with the Peppervine in Thekkady a highlignt. Breakfasts were very good at all properties with the best at the Ginger Hotel in Cochi. The itinerary was OK but it was disappointing that one nature reserve and the bird park were closed. The bird park has been closed for 2 months and it disappointing that the company did not inform us f this. The Cochi city tour was excellent. The highlight for us was the Green Land Spice Garden tour which was entertaining and the guide was so well informed. Meals on the houseboat could be better but the boat itself was very comfortable and the boat staff very pleasant.Show more

Regarding the closures, as advised prior to your trip, Eravikulam National Park was closed during your travel dates. However, we sincerely regret that we were not informed in advance by our local partner about the closure of the Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary, and therefore could not update you beforehand. Please accept our apologies for the inconvenience caused. We also appreciate your feedback regarding the houseboat meals and will share this with the operator.   We recently did this trip and we had a fantastic time in Kerela, communication was great from the company prior to travel and our driver who was with us the entire trip was very accommodating and kind and drove us safely throughout the trip. We really enjoyed the Tiger reserve Trek, really lovely and a great guide. We didn't see tigers yet didn't expect to as our trek was during the day but we saw plenty of birdlife, snakes, antelope, buffalo and playful elephants which was lovely. The spice plantation was great and it was interesting to visit the tea plantations, very beautiful area and very green. The overnight backwaters private boat trip was absolutely brilliant, fantastic food and a really relaxing day / evening, hotel accommodation was of great standard, particularly by the tiger reserve, that was fantastic yet the hotel in Cochin we felt would have been better if central to Cochin for eateries etc. Overall a brilliant experience and I would absolutely recommend travelling with these guys.Show more

  This guided tour was a lot of fun! We were travelling with Mr Vinod as a driver, who I strongly recommend. Mr Vinod was always happy to help , answer questions, and tailor the experience to our needs and interests. The tour went by very fast, proving how much fun we had. It would just be even better to precisely indicateur which activities are included in the overall price, and for the élective ones, to give an estimate of the additional costs.Show more

  My partner and I thoroughly enjoyed our time on this tour! The scenery throughout was incredible, and it was a great contrast to time spent in India’s North visiting the Golden Triangle. Walking in Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary, a tour of a spice farm, and time on the houseboat in the backwaters were particular highlights. Pacing of the trip was good, with multiple nights in some of the towns, in between longer drives. Our driver, Noufel, had a good grasp of English, and was very helpful. The staff from GeTS Holidays were also very communicative via WhatsApp, and checked in throughout to ensure everything was going well. Our hotels were comfortable and served good food. Most had AC (though it wasn’t really needed in Munnar due to the altitude). Visiting in Summer, there wasn’t so much wildlife, but the scenery everywhere was still amazing!Show more

  We very much enjoyed our Best of Kerala tour! Staying on a houseboat in the Kerala backwaters was a wonderful experience and a lifetime memory for our 15th anniversary. The the traditional Kerala meals were delicious on the boat and we felt very pampered by the cook who took us to purchase fresh tiger prawns for one of our meals. Our drivers in Kerala and the houseboat crew were exceptional. Munnar tea plantations were very scenic and although we didn't see any tigers in Periyar, the scenery was lovely. I highly recommend this tour.Show more

  It was absolutely fantastic. We enjoyed our holiday to the fullest. Since the beginning, Gets holidays assisted us in planning our tour effectively and it turned out to be very exciting. The Driver was very sincere and efficient. We really liked the stunning tea estates in Munnar. One thing we should suggest is while boating in Periyar, there should be a guide who can tell us about the birds or animals. However we enjoyed gazing them on our own. We would definitely mention to our friends and relatives to travel on this tour with Gets holidays. Show more

  Kerala-Gods own communist state. This was a lovely holiday and Gets Holidays made it!!! However it didn't start well. We were met by our driver at Kochin airport who was a very nice man but sadly didn't speak English. We were further dismayed that the car we believed we had booked (a Toyota Innova, a large MPV) had somehow transformed into a small Suzuki Swift DeZire. After lots of phone calls GeTS agreed the Innova could be provided and off we went with a new car and new driver, whose English was excellent. Throughout the seven day tour by taxi GeTS phoned us regularly to ensure we were happy with everything. Their support was first class!! We visited Kochin, Munnar (tea plantations) Periyar National Park for stunning views and a chance to see wild Elephants, and finished with a 2 day cruise (recommend 2 not 1) on a house boat in Alleppy. The boat was quite tired and in need of a refreshment. The cook and staff were excellent and we were lucky to have an upstairs viewing gallery (quite rare) so as we could see beyond the riverbanks to the paddy fields beyond. The birdlife was spectacular. We had never seen so many kingfishers up close! Three points of note. Firstly Kerala has an elected communist government. The Hammer and Sickle flag is everywhere. So too are schools and hospitals. The people are quite rightly proud of their high literacy, low mortality and crime rates. Secondly if you want to drink be aware that very few hotels and restaurants have a licence but you can buy your alcohol from the Government outlet centres in most towns. Thirdly we only saw five, yes five, people smoking in public in our three weeks in India. On our last day our driver took us to his house to meet his family and have some food, a lovely touch, before the airport and a sad farewell.Show more
