  Your site never gave us an opportunity nor was it clear re: choosing camping or Refugio - until we actually paid and asked. Our itinerary was incorrect and you NEVER updated us with the address to pick up our package in Punta Arenas. Thankfully we were there a day early.Show more

  Bamba Experience is a rip off for Torres Del Paine trekking. We paid ~1167USD each for camp site accommodation over 4 nights. Booking directly with Fantastico Sur or at the park would have cost us 145USD per night for full board in the CABINS. So essentially, we paid twice the amount it would have cost us to stay in the cabins but had to sleep in tents instead. The additional fees would have been for a round trip bus trip (24USD for 2 way), entrace fee (30USD) and boat trip (18USD). So the amount extra we paid for just booking via Bamba was 515USD of hard-earned money each. We understand that companies need to make money but that margin makes this a total rip off. I concede that it was our fault for not looking into the details prior to our trip but it was our first time to South America and we thought we would pay a little more for the convenience - never expecting that it would be 1000USD more. We felt exploited by Bamba Experience which is a pity because Torres Del Paine is such a beautiful place that we would otherwise have fully enjoyed. I am writing this review to help future travelers make wiser decisions than we did so that hopefully Bamba will not be able to capitalise on ignorance. I am never booking via Bamba Experience ever again and would never recommend it.Show more

  We were more than a little disappointed - not by the tour itself. Patagonia is fabulous (self-guided) and breathtaking. We're extremely disappointed with Bamba Experience. They charged us USD2,334 for two people with the package stating "either dorm-style or camping in tents based on package" for accommodation, then outsourced the whole thing to Fantastico Sur (who do a great job). Fantastico Sur themselves only charge USD1,676 for Dorm-style lodging and USD1,423 for camping in tents for two people. As such, we'd assume they'd book us into Dorms. Despite the fee and margin on the markup, as well as availability of Dorm-style accommodations, we were still booked for tents everywhere. As such, we ended up having to pay additional charges during our trek on the last night there to shift to a DORM ourselves as the weather was really bad. On another day, again, due to bad weather, we were lucky to be offered a DORM at no additional charge by the staff due to concerns for safety in the tents. While we do not mind sleeping in tents, we do object to being overcharged and then still being put into the tent accommodations when they could have easily booked us into dorms.Show more
