Itinerary
- Day 1
Avignon
You'll arrive in Avignon and check into your 4-star hotel in the city center. The morning and early afternoon are yours to walk around town and see what interests you. Later, you'll meet your local guide for a welcome orientation and get your bike set up for the week ahead. Dinner suggestions will be provided, so you can choose where to eat on your own.

Avignon to Châteauneuf-du-Pape
Today's bike ride takes you through the Côtes du Rhône vineyards. You'll stop in Châteauneuf-du-Pape where you can visit local cellars and taste wine. Along the route, you'll pass through Roquemaure to see the 12th-century medieval castle ruins where Pope Clement V died in 1314.

Châteauneuf-du-Pape to Saint-Paul-les-Trois-Châteaux
You'll bike through Sérignon du Comtat, a medieval village with roots going back to the 6th century BC and connections to the Counts of Toulouse and Diane de Poitiers. From there, the route heads toward Rochegude through lavender country in the Drôme. The day ends in Saint-Paul-les-Trois-Châteaux where you can walk the old cobbled streets and see the historical church.

Your bike ride brings you to Clansayes first, where you'll visit the Templar knights tower with its panoramic views of the surrounding area. After that, you'll ride through Colonzelle and La Baume de Transit, which has remains from a medieval castle. The route finishes in Grignan.

Grignan
You have two options today. If you want to ride, head out toward La Garde d'Adhémar through the lavender areas around Grignan. This classical Provençal village has kept its medieval structure and ramparts intact, along with Roman-era elements from the 1st century, then return to Grignan for the evening. If you'd rather stay put, explore the 16th-17th-century château in Grignan and learn about Madame de Sévigné.

Grignan to Vaison-la-Romaine
Today's bike ride takes you to Vaison, a town rich in medieval and cultural history. The town was built on ancient Roman foundations, and La Romaine was added to its attractions in 1924. You'll see why the area's reputation comes from these historical layers.

Vaison-la-Romaine to Bédoin
You can choose your route today. The easier 38km option goes through the wine villages of Gigondas, Vacqueyras, and Beaumes de Venise, finishing in Bédoin. For a more challenging ride, take the 40km route crossing the Dentelles de Montmirail with some climbs. There's also a Mont Ventoux variant that adds 25km and 1-2 hours of climbing up to 1,909 meters (6,000 feet) on the famous Tour de France climb known as the Giant of Provence. Tonight you'll stay at a charming inn on the edge of Bédoin where lavender scent fills the air from mid-June through early August.

Bédoin to Avignon
Breakfast is included this morning. You'll have some time to visit Bédoin before heading out. Your transfer back to Avignon TGV station departs at 9:30am, with approximately 1 hour travel time before your train departure.
